You have to remember, by 'public domain' he means any rumours posted on social media ... ... and things he thinks in his head that he believes are therefore facts
The timeliness can not dictate the narrative as you or anybody else on here do not know what has happened. You said it seems like the club stopped looking in Febuary but you have no evidence of that. You supposed that WS was the only option the club had went for and again you have no evidence of that. You also offered that there is no evidence of succession planning and again you can not support that with anything other than your own opinion. There is little to no evidence of anything you have stated in your original post other than rumor and conjecture on forums but you have worded your post to make it sound like you are telling us what has happened when in reality you are guessing and supposing then using that information to say the club have no plan or succession planning. You have no idea what has happened at the club or what has happened at other clubs, so again you use conjecture and supposition to try and make a poorly thought out point sound like it has substance.
At some point we have to look to the future, new coach/signings/improvements, rather than go on about 100+ days and on which day Still was available/unavailable/vanished ... ... otherwise it's just Groundhog Day and totally depressing. You seem to have grasped that and, despite genuine concerns, can show some hope and enthusiasm. Some people just can't bear to see any good in the club which is fine, just don't keep repeating it.
Agreed it is very frustrating however he also didn't have the players to change things that much. We couldn't have gone 442 as we didn't have any CF's, we also had nobody up top that could hold the ball up so even up against it we had nothing to hit to get us up the pitch. Yes managers need to change tactics but you also need a squad that is capable to give the luxury of those changes.
It is just very boring. You might be right and might be wrong but it's not adding anything to discussions. To keep repeating the same viewpoint is poor form.
You might find it boring, but others clearly don't. It's a developing situation where even nothing happening is worth speculating about. People want to know what's happening. Things I find boring, I scroll on by.
Yes, that does make it look like Still was the main target. That doesn't mean that there was no succession planning though. Without seeing the club's list of potential managers and knowing every detail of the factors that might have made an approach to a particular manager at a particular point in time inappropriate, we have no way of knowing how the club planned the recruitment of the next head coach. It is possible that they have lists and lists of managers, all fully researched. That doesn't mean that they can or will approach every manager on that list. It is possible that haven't done any research and are making it all up as they go along. We just don't know, and they aren't going to tell us.
One of my continuing theories is that football players can easily latch onto the slightest excuse. That's from watching football, at many levels, and playing Sunday League. I usually had good managers but one, in particular, would say things like 'Ooh, tough game today lads'. Heads would drop just a little, wrong but true. During the last few months Mowbray, in my opinion, kept giving the team excuses to fail. Even things as daft as 'I can't communicate with the foreign lads' and 'none of these strikers know their jobs', etc. In the end I think it became Mowbray making excuses for himself ... ... and that situation couldn't continue.
I'd argue the fact that Still and Jansen being so different in terms of style and approach would suggest either no or poor succession planning, same when Beale was the appointment after Mowbray. The so called continuity is just not there.
I'm even willing to give the club the benefit of the doubt in that they've had to go to that list twice in six months, so there was a bit of work required to repopulate that list. Very naive to assume the Still thing was going to happen without a hitch in the summer where everyone else might change clubs though. And if we did have a comprehensive list, what use is it if we're not willing to attract them here. Might as well have Pep and Arteta on it, they'd be perfect. The optics aren't great, at the very least, and there's a lot of goodwill to win back. This should have been an easy win with four months to get it right and have a backup.
been up since 4 this morning for graft, was a chill then aswell. Nothing going on at the Stadium when I passed at half 4, pissed me right off. lol
Curiously a lad over the road came up with a very specific theory without actually tagging it as a theory until he was picked up on it. Said it was a Haunch. anyway he thinks the interviews and agreement will have been done by Zoom and that we will probably hear today so you never know he might actually be ITK but pretending not to be !
