Coming up five or six weeks then. The reaction would be the same.

It looks very much like they decided on Still in February without having a full commitment from him and then the idea that he might go somewhere else never crossed their minds. At which point looking at anyone else stopped. So when he goes elsewhere - who'd have thought he might have had other interest, eh, certainly not us - we're back at square one.

If we get Jansen I'll be happy, but he's been available since January. If he was second or third choice we could have got him in much earlier than now if we'd considered the possibility we might not get Still.

That's succession planning. A constant, ongoing process which there's been no evidence of since February.
You are right there has been no evidence, but to be fair there has been no evidence of anything else suggested in your post. We as fans know little to nothing about the recruitment process or what has happened, but you are trying to conjour up a negative narrative based around evidence you don't have and then pointing out that there is no evidence ?? Bit confusing that don't you think.

I get that mate. He has been assistant manager before mind.

Doesn't seem to have done particularly well at it. One year in a big job. Two years in a youth job. Forgotten for a decade.

I just don't feel like those sentimental hires ever work out for us. Better to get someone who has something tangible to offer and leave the sentiment for ambassador roles.

It's based on what is available in the public domain. Still has been more heavily linked then all the other candidates put together since December. You have to work really hard not to see that he was our first choice. The length of time that's passed since it became clear he wasn't coming strongly suggests we had to start all over again - and other clubs take two or three weeks to get a new man sorted.

What we see dictates the narrative. Does the timeline suggest that we had a candidates list ready to go to immediately? No.

He’s been part of the 1st coaching team at PSV for years now

Confused. Just had a look at their website and they have about 15 staff listed as coaches/physios/analysts under the first team but he isn't one. Isn't under the U21's or academy either.

But if you search Bolo Zenden PSV Coach he seems to have some sort of profile in the website cache. Can't really get my head around it.

If he's a good coach, of course he would be a welcome addition. Just wouldn't want someone for the fact that they played for us.

Crack of dawn and you're straight back on here attacking the club, arguing with decent posters in your usual condescending way and trotting out your favourite little phrases, not just individual words, that make you believe you're more intelligent and perceptive than everyone else. As Exile and, since your ban, as Grizzle you're relentlessly boring, tedious and sidetracking threads to hammer away repeating the same old tripe ... people keep telling you that.

You can pretend you're not Exile all you like ... you can run but you're just not clever enough to hide.

'Vague comments from the head coach that can be taken as throwing players and coaches under the bus don't calm things down. That's just fuelling the 'bluffer' narrative.'
The Exile II, Jan 22nd, 2024

'One side wants the narrative to be 'dafties fell for Johnson and Farage's bullshit' when that's simply not true.'
The Exile II, Feb 16th, 2023

'I see the usual 'club is never wrong' narrative is winding up so I think that's as much as I'll contribute.'

A good coach and played for us and got the place would be great. Is there anyone would fit that description? Catts, not enough experience? same with Leadbitter

For ****s sake.

Fact 1: The club said that Dodds would continue in the role for the remainder of the season when Beale was sacked.
Fact 2: Still was employed by Reims when Beale was sacked

They are the only facts in the public domain.

Everything else is rumour, speculation and guesswork.

Whilst i persona;;y feel that Still was KLD's first choice it's only my belief, not a fact.

Jansen getting the job (which I'd be happy with) would indicate that we were waiting for Still. If we weren't, we could have appointed Jansen in February. He was available after leaving AZ in January. We'd have heard about an approach.
