What? <laugh> you have an opinion on left, right, up, down, middle, front and back ffs. If someone non-tory has an opinion on the right how is that any different to anyone else.

Btw Bojo's lies caught up with him with the public. No way he would've salvaged this GE. Following partygate the tories lost 2 by-elections, one of which was the largest swing ever. The tories knew he was a liar, a charlatan and a constant source of scandals, sleaze, and getting into bed with dubious Russians, but he was an electoral asset. Once he lost that in those by-elections he lost everything and became a liability. He was teetering and then the blatant lies he was caught spouting defending the sexpest Pincher was the final nail in his coffin. Good riddance to him.

That's not true, Sucky told me if he ever stands for election this will be his slogan.

I do give a **** about the liars though, left or right bcos it has consequences as you know - innocent ppl get killed, livelihoods are destroyed, the country/world becomes more and more fcked, and we should at least strive for better otherwise what's the fcking point.

But as Gaza has shown, sometimes the difference between a lie and the truth can be hard to determine - A lot will depend on what version of events someone choses to believe or what narratives were spun around a particular event. I'm sure my view of the world would be different to yours if we came back in a couple of hundred years to tell the tale. What seems important now will all be forgotten by future generations in a century from now, left to the history books and the tales they tell. Some will argue there was football before 1992, many will deny that fact, or that it's even important, many younger than 30 probably don't even care, well unless you are a Newcastle fan. <whistle>

Everything has two sides but that doesn't mean we shouldn't decide what's right or wrong. We shouldn't just think fck it, it won't matter after we're dead and buried. If that were true you wouldn't give a fck about Blair leading us into an illegal war or you wanting Brexit. Of course it matters.

The problem is determing what is right and wrong, it all sounds good in theory but in practise it's a different story, people can't even avoid arguing on a football forum, the virtual world, so what chance the human race in reality. If we went back to basics, that all human life is sacred, you can be pretty sure within the first 60 seconds another life in the world would have been lost at the hands of another. Humans have proven for centuries that they are incapable of living in peace for an eternity. As I've said on this forum before, if there is an afterlife, whatever brings us here will send us all back as Palestinian children, to suffer the same suffering, then in another life send us back as Israelis at a party about to be slaughtered, because life is about teaching us until we are capable of removing all hate, and learning that line you care about now, won't even exist in several thousand years time.

We still have to strive for it though, and as they say no point letting the perfect be the enemy of the good.

We may not be able to stop every injustice but we can stop some, especially the ****e which is easily avoidable if we have some standards and accountability. In fact the more we strive for it the more accountable these ****s in charge become. The more we give up and say it don't matter, the more these ****s will take the piss as we're seeing right now. We've sanitised politics to the point that we've been led to believe (by the politicians and the press) that there's nothing that can be done. It's not true, that's what they want.

You know I was reading the other day these polls have a big caviat. Basically every single one has a big hole of undecided voters which doesn't get mentioned. So when we see a 20 point lead that's only those who have already made up their mind. There's on average something like 40% who haven't, and pollsters use all sorts of assumptions about them for their figures in the polls OR ignore them completely. The best thing that can happen in this GE for ppl to make a difference is to go out and vote. I'm not so precious about Labour that I wouldn't be happy for that 40% to give thd main parties a bloody nose. If only to show that the public does have the power and that these ****s can be held to account.

The biggest caveat really is that polls have a tiny catchment of usually 2000 people or less and this massively benefits parties that campaign nationwide as opposed to parties that campaign in specific regions.

No doubt Reform for example have an inflated poll share, whilst the Greens and Lib Dems are polling under what they will achieve.

On big issues like war, you will never get a genuine number.

Your logic has merit ... but I can't remember the last time (if ever) the polls got it shockingly wrong...

2015 some pollsters got it very wrong.

2017 all the polls were wrong.

    Tories with a 10pt lead.

So Tory majority, but ended with a hung parliament.

tbf the polls were spot on in 2010, apart from the Lib Dems doing worse than expected

Just hot air from disgruntled Tories who were never in reality going to switch - although it was a compliment to John Smith's leadership of Labour who, in my humble opinion, made huge strides in turning things around for the Labour Party...

yeah 2015 I was thinking of. Posh Tory kid at work insisted a Tory majority was a good bet and the odds were quite long.

92 was Kinnock mate. Smith took over after but sadly passed away and then Blair took over. Agree though, he would've made a very good PM at the next GE but that's history for you.
