Good post, the club should support local in whatever way they can imo. From contractors to the breaking news they should look to keep it local first.

That Romano bloke on twitter must be one of the most followed footy journalists in the world and I imagine he does very well for himself.

He has clearly worked hard to make relationships to get as many breaking stories as he does but he is probably at the point now where the news comes to him he is that well known.

His break through was an AGENT contacting him to push through news of his clients.

He kinda fell into it whole being ya box standard online sports journalist.

The Farioli thing is interesting. I believe that if the club felt he was the man to take us forward then they should have appointed him. I know that would have been harsh on Mogga, and there would have been uproar amongst the fanbase, but successful business is all about making the difficult decisions. As it turned out, the Farioli flirtation, the ill feeling between KS/KLD & Mogga, the alleged bust ups in America all led to the inevitable sacking and the horrific decision to appoint Beale which killed our season. They have to get this appointment right

I remember the uproar when the leaks came out about Mowbray being replaced.

I was there, roaring away...but in hindsight, you wonder if the club did the right thing?

Looking at the career trajectories for both coaches.....

I think that's where this entire last season came from. That seed of doubt sown and the club second guessing it's own decisions.

It's a fine balance - the fan base can be so useful as a barometer but you've also got to have confidence in your own decisions. Wrong about ditching Mowbray, but absolutely correct about Beale - that's what separates the best DoFs from the bluffers.

Agreed

The club is so ****ing watertight these days. Seems as though nowt gets leaked out, or even whispered to the local journos. Copley and Smith are good lads, I don't envy their jobs right now...

They don't always help themselves imo.

Some of their 'articles' have nothing to do with their headline ...

... and using the word 'exclusive' to describe guesswork and gossip doesn't help.

In any case whatever people are told they'll 'read between the lines' and bend things to suit their own viewpoint.

Plus the fact the echo website is a shambles these days. So many adverts, limits on how many articles you read and articles spread across numerous pages to make you interact.
