Apart from being a weakling rodent, his rise through the ranks of British politics is an interesting little tale From nothing, to junior minister, Chancellor and then PM. Some people ply their trade for YEARS to get even close to that.
I've said similar before. 2/3 months before the 2019 GE he was doing the rounds as a junior on Sunday morning news channels and few ppl had heard of him. I think he would've done better had he cut his teeth over a longer period. I blame Sajid Javed.
Not that uncommon ... can think of one bumbling disheveled fat blonde old etonian nothing that even managed mayor of Londinium before stinking out the top office ...
it's ironic that the best Tory candidate for PM was the Minister of Defence who clearly smelt that they were heading to electoral disaster and then after him ... Jeremy Hunt, who is the only person in the cabinet doing an OK job. They're a mess. I don't want Rishi Sunak to distract from the wider picture though that the Tories have been poor for the best part of these 14 years. I have to repeat that it was Labour being a terrible opposition that gave them so many lifelines. Apart from Brexit and Indyref 1, what have the Tories actually done in all this time apart from poorly copy the Tony Blair government?
About this time 30 years ago when things started to change, getting shot of a load of MP’s who haven’t performed and then the Tory’s with them is going to be great. Things can’t get any worse than they are now. 14 years and no improvement, time for a change.
Because the Tories are polling at below 20% and need every single potential voter out there. elections have less voters during the middle of winter. Summer elections have a higher turnout and it's polled people feel more content with the sitting government during the heights of summer.
For the best part of 14 years the Tories have only ever tried to implement every major policy to placate the divisions in their own party. That's why the country is in such a mess.
