Impossible to tell how well Slot will do at this point. I think we have a very good squad, but as you say, a few aging players. Not too many the club can't evolve.

I feel like Klopp played Nunez out of position and hope Slot can use him better (if he stays). Same with Trent. Obviously I'm not expecting Slot to be better than Klopp but there are ways the existing squad could improve even without new signings.


Taking a random fart-guess now, not knowing who comes and goes, or much about Slot... I'd predict 4th or 5th for us next year.

We're not going to keep pace with City/Arse this season... And there are enough people on our heels that a little stumble from changing managers you have to expect a little drop.

What I want and what's I expect to happen are two different things. I want us to win everything. I expect us to win SOME things... Although probably not next year.

I also want England to win the world cup, but I know (the men at least) will never lift a trophy in my lifetime.

Until Southgate ****ed off, I don't care and I'm not watching. Not watched England for several years because of the extremely negative prick

VVd is fine. Quansah is already slotted in as first choice ahead of Konate anyway.

Def need something up top but new tactics might get more goals out of gakpo nunez and diaz anyway.

Midfield has had a big overhaul with young players just needs a proper DM unless Bajcetic gets back to fitness.

Doesn’t need wholesale changes and the difference between klopp going compared to Ferguson and wenger is that our structure is top notch.

Ferguson and wenger ran those whole clubs and when they went and then I believe dien left arsenal and guy at United left soon after and they didn’t have the backup to support the new managers.

Now slot might fail but the backdrop is there to support him in a much better way

We've got a very good squad that just needs a tweak here and there, especially when it comes to goalscoring

Imo the team lost its way badly in terms of defending and just Palin keeping going in games.

We have seen off thiago and matip but we should expect Adrian, tsimikas, kelleher amd maybe salah to go

Imo endo isn't up to this level so we really need to take a fresh look at morton and bajcetic with new eyes and decide how we dominate midfield.

Imo konate will want to go too.

Quite the opposite to me. Thiago never played and imo didn't suit our style when he did, despite being quality. Matip likewise, we were lucky to get a run of games from him.

Quansah has come in and been very good, but definitely needs another signing in defence.

Our midfield just had a complete refresh, as has the attack. Salah needs competition/cover.

So sign a right winger and a centre back and I think we are OK.

Regardless of that, Slot isn't Klopp and we won't be as good.
 
I think it's very hard just judge klopp by tje final two seasons as there's so much gone before

But

Let's be clear here any other manager

5th on 67 points. Out in cl last 16. Out of cups in 4th round each. (For a top club that's poor)

3rd on 82?. Out in europa qf. League cup winners. Out of fa cup in qf. Not bad. Most clubs take that but it was a disappointing end.

I think a another manager can do more. I honestly do. I felt the general energy and focus dropped right off over the past months.

They have to be the real deal and not a spoofer though.

Yeah we coped so well with the squad players and academy when in need, then when players were coming back I think we underestimated how tough it’d be to get them up to speed and everything just went to **** for a few weeks.

Klopp wasn’t absolutely perfect, I’m looking forward to a different style now that the time has come - let’s embrace it and see. Momentum is everything in this game, start the season well (with a friendly opening few games) and we might just kick on nicely
