He will have been told ages ago and he’s not stupid, he’ll have known anyway given that he barely played at all this season. He’ll have told his agent to find him a club months ago.
He knew full he was going and you're right, his agent knows exactly who's interested and it's a fair few in England and north of the boarder
Wonder what prompts players to tweet that then, since it's Huddlestone and now Doc. Traore, Connolly, Sharp, etc. haven't tweeted similar? Connolly seemed to know. I wonder if Doc had been told it was 'unlikely' but nothing definite, or wires were crossed at some stage.
He was needlessly ambiguous, but that's social media these days; people, even subconsciously, want interaction and attention on there, so what better way to generate discussion than to not clarify your meaning and leave it to the audience to decide?
I don't think he was ambiguous at all, he knew exactly what he was saying. Whether it was a tweet out of emotion and anger is probably fairly likely
I say again I saw his body language at the walk around, he knew he was going then. We don't know the full story, better at one of the next East/West/North/south stand fans meetings someone asks the question.
Any yet he felt it right to lay into the club and owner on the New Manager thread without knowing the full story...
Doc knew we were trying to get rid of him last summer before his injury. And what has he done on the pitch this season to warrant a contract extension? Maybe Doc was given false hope following Liam's sacking that everyone would get their opportunity to be assessed by the new coach, but letting him go was the right decision for the club.
The manger wasn't ever going to see him play before the retained list had to be announced, so there was never any possibility of this happening.
Fair to say it's probably the right decision for the Player too. He's the type of lad who thrives on fitness and playing Football...He wasn't/isn't likely to get that with us. Good luck to him,he's a decent lad and will hopefully move on to somewhere where his assets on the pitch can be used to there full capacity.
He isn't happy how the club/Rosenior handled his situation this year. Birmingham made an offer for him last summer and he had a good chance at first team football but the Rosie wouldn't let him go. In January, Blackburn had an offer accepted for him with Rosie's blessing, he agreed terms, packed his bags and at the very last minute, Rosie pulled the plug because he felt he was a bit short on midfielders. I think when you get that far into a move pretty much guaranteeing first team football and a longer contract and it gets taken from you, you would feel annoyed, especially when you don't even play for the club you're at.
Interesting. Wonder if he’ll sign for Blackburn on a free now then or if they’ll move on to other targets.
Birmingham made an offer for him last summer, despite him having a significant knee injury that meant he wasn't available until October?
