He was a random suggestion for a striker,on loan, I mentioned 2 months ago. Due to the reasons given.

We literally got amad on loan not too long ago

Frankfurt paid good money for him. About 15m, I think, so could only ever have been on loan we got him.

Fair point and I wasn't meaning to have a go. I still think he'd be well out of our reach, he's had a goal contribution every game and a half or something at 21 years old in the Bundesliga. I don't see us getting players of that sort of standing this summer.

Yeah he's a good player and went for way more than we'd spend.

When I suggested him, he was hardly getting a kick off the bench for Frankfurt and they weren't sure if they were going to activate the buy clause from the loan. Obviously that's changed now so he's definitely not coming here <laugh>.

We've targeted players with a similar profile before but he's maybe a rung too high on the ladder for us, or maybe not. I was just using our links to PSG and his links to Will Still, as a possible loan for next season.

I think we'll see 2 players come in for decent money this window. Once Clarke and possibly another go, we will have a lot more wriggle room to target better players.

He will have heard what others have and have put in here. There is an expectation that we will have a new head coach by the end of next week.

Some of these people that set themselves up as sources of knowledge on the club would have had careers as horoscope writers in years gone by. Say something suitably vague so that people can read whatever they like in to it.

He was right about the three weeks mind, I thought he must be talking nonsense when he said that, I think most people did at the time.

Great news whether it’s Still or not as it means they can really start planning.

I’m sure Still will have had the chance to do some due diligence on the squad already though. Exciting appointment imo.

Oh, I'm sure he and some of the others do find things out. They just seem to feel the need to maintain their 'status' with these vaguenesses when they don't know the answer. It just seems weird to me.
