    My take.

Acun did the rounds with the media after the sacking, gave respectful reasons for the sacking (did not share the same vision etc).

in reality, the sacking wasnt headline news. Hull City were far down the pecking order in the headlines on that day and only a small minority of “pundits” chose to comment on it.

But Acun admitted he does read fans forums and those on facebook and twitter were massively critical of the decision for the first couple of days. I suspect the criticism that he took most to heart was accusation that the one dream was bullshit.

Acun flew in especially to address these issues with the fans. There was no invite to the media. Had we been introducing a new Manager the media would have been there.

This was him explaining to the fans the reason Liam had to go in more honest terms than could be done where media were present.

The decision to extend the invite to fans online seemed a fairly late one but from a risk mitigation point of view, there was very little chance of journalists not directly connected with Hull City joining the stream.

It wouldnt surprise me if most of the current players didnt tune in either.

The reaction on here seems to be less about disagreeing what he said (the reasons for sacking Liam) amd more about how the rest of the footballing world including future players might react.

I would be very surprised if the recording ends up on youtube therefore most future players will be none the wiser.

At least players who do come in now will be under no illusion of what's expected of them

You think Allsop thought he was expected to let in soft goals? He probably expected to be going to a club that wouldn't hang him out to dry if he did make mistakes.

Not particularly interested in the comments around Connolly, moreso the players still here.

“Pandur not good enough” according to Liam.

Not good enough with his feet I suspect would be the more accurate answer.

Having said that I suspect Rosie would have had the same judgement of Darlow as not been as good with his feet. But for most Darlow would be first choice in front of Allsop.

You often put across the assumption that your views are shared by everyone. Have you ever thought about why you do that?

I assume he means he has a burner twitter account so he can follow relevant accounts but not fill his main account's feed with City stuff, but would be funny if he had an account on here too.

Wonder if he's listened to any City podcasts. :)

I think a fair criticism at Acun is that he himself said a manager cannot take part in recruitment due to time not allowing him to scout players.

Yet he himself admitted he doesn’t see the players every day in training. I get it’s fair to criticise Allsop’s performances (I still don’t think in a public forum mind) but he’s not seeing how players like Pandur, Ohio and Sinik are doing in training but are expected to play on reputation alone. I agree Pandur and Ohio should’ve got spells because of the players ahead of them not playing well but it’s not sitting right with me overall

I’m getting panem et circenses vibes from Acun at the moment. Whilst he does a lot of good regarding affordable tickets, free travel last year, improving the general mood, backing the club as much as he can with transfers (even if recruitment has been dodgy), it’s the other populist stuff like the free holidays, the Botanic appearances etc. that just feel a bit gimmicky and unserious.

If he wants to be the eccentric, personable owner who has pints with fans and stuff, that’s fine, but he needs to delegate the footballing decisions to Tan or a Director or Football. Right now, he’s trying to do all of the populist stuff as well as micromanaging the football side of the business, which is just a recipe for disaster. He needs to pick one or the other. If he wants to be hands-on with footballing decisions, he should be more serious and level-headed about it. If he wants to do all the other stuff, he just needs to be a figurehead and nothing more.
