Probably easier to speak out when they’re not likely to take you forward.

Not seen anyone saying they want the job tbh.

Anyone who does will be instantly ruled out imo ...

... not how KLD likes to do things.

I think the Beale situation really annoyed him.

Would be a right kick in the balls for Ipswich but how many chances do you get to manage Man United?

If this is true it's a hell of a pull for him but would any of Man Utds players respect him enough to follow his instructions? Managing Man Utd is a hell of a lot different to managing Ipswich

Would be a bold move but I could see it happening. Ratcliffe will want to differentiate himself from previous regimes and this would certainly do that. Can't see the Southgate thing coming off, timing doesn't work.

Worry might be Ipswich then in the same market for a progressive HC as we would be with the obvious added value of being PL and that may delay things for us. That said, the consensus seems to be that most would be happy with any of the 3 main candidates being talked about so perhaps not that big of a deal.

That’s one of the reasons they need a massive clear out, lots of egos for pretty average talent.

If I was the owners I’d be looking at a new stadium (not a patch-up job), massive clear out, new young manager and exciting players who will work their balls off for the team. They need a fresh start.

Man Utd need a massive name after the last few appointments imo ...

... Ratcliffe hasn't come in to appoint an ex-staff member as the top man.

Would work very well in the long term I think. Would need a big rebuild and time, not too sure if he'd get either of them things. I do like some of the boardroom appointments United have made though, Jason Wilcox especially.

That's the problem with United though, chasing the big name instead of building slowly

They don't have any choice this time imo, they're little better than Brighton or Palace tbh.

That's madness in my opinion. He's done a great job at Ipswich and may go on to do huge things in the game, but Man Utd is a different beast entirely.

It needs someone who can handle the egos and expectations. I think it will be Tuchel personally and that's the best person they could give the job to right now.

I agree. I think Tuchel is perfect for the next 2 years there. They need someone to rattle some cages and upset folk. Someone with real authority on the touchline. I think they have some real young talent, but some of the older players need to be scared of the head coach to do the hard yards imo. 2 years to bring 3 or 4 young stars through and bring in 4 or 5 better senior players. They wont be far off again.

Just think they have a horrid squad and a big name for 2 years isn't going to change that. Players like Martial are still there, Mourinho was trying to get rid of him 6 years ago.

Look at Arsenal, the Arteta regime has been a long term project and a big part of that was removing senior players on huge wages (Ozil, Aubamayang and plenty others) and then giving a young, inexperienced coach time to build the club up to a point where they are competitive at the top.

Man United need a mentality switch, they can't just drop in a few superstars every year and expect to be better than City, they need a club overhaul from top to bottom and the board appointments are a good early indication that they are going down the rebuild route.

I wouldn’t underestimate the influence Jim Ratcliffe will have through the whole club. He’s played hardball with unions and governments his whole career and continues to do so. The secret to his success is when he says he’s prepared to do something he genuinely is. If a clear out is required then it will happen. If there are wasters hanging about for a wage life will not be easy anymore. If a player isn’t prepared to listen and work for the manager, whoever it is, they’ll be shown the door.
