I know you’re fishing but I’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make.

Apparently Sunak has refused to rule out raising the state pension age to 75. So the plan is to work people into the grave if so

If this cuts through (probably won’t due to the client media) that might put a dent in the senior vote. Although everyone currently over 65 won’t be impacted and all those under don’t significantly support the conservatives

Not entirely sure why people are getting worried or worked up about proposed Conservative policies (though I do agree with raising defence expenditure, for what it's worth). None of them will happen because they're out in three months time.

Those aren’t generally the sort of business people this government listens to.

Never underestimate the stupidity/gullibility/selfish short term greed of the UK electorate.

    I’m reminded of the words of Super Hans, in an episode of Peepshow;

“Don’t put your faith in people Jeremy. People like Coldplay, and voted for Hitler”

“Tomorrow voters will have a choice and it’ll be a choice between mayors like Andy Street and Ben Houchen, who are delivering, or mayors like Sadiq Khan, who just simply virtue-signal,” he told MPs.” he told MPs”

    Virtue-signalling that includes …

Record building of Social & Affordable Housing
    Support for renters
    Free school meals
Cleaner air - ULEZ & zero emission buses
Improving Public Transport and freezing prices
    Increased spending on youth activities
    Support for the homeless
    Active Travel policies
    Business growth agency
    Tree planting
    London Living Wage
    Adult skills programs

Guys I have a conundrum. Today are the PCC elections and since the role wa introduced I have been adamant that policing shouldn't be based on party lines and there's no reason why the person who's the head of policing in an area should be affiliated to any political party.. so I've always voted independent. Unfortunately this time there's no independent candidate so I have three options: spoil my ballot, abstain (but vote in local and mayoral) or abandon my principles and vote. What should I do???

Blindfold, three turns finger down 'X' in the closest box.
Or neglect all party political bollocks and select the best candidate for the job irrespective of gender, gender preferences, race or planetary origins.

Check out if any of them aren't Pompey fans. You'll find the normal one then.

Today is polling day. Use your vote.

Who you vote for is your business. You may vote for an established party, an independent candidate or, if you feel that no candidate adequately meets your expectations, deliberately spoil your ballot paper.

Every time you vote, you're sticking two fingers up at every autocrat and bully and helping to hasten the day when they and their kind will be confined to the dustbin of history.

Use your vote and pray for those that cannot enjoy this freedom.

But wouldn't I be a raging hypocrite if I actually voted for someone?

It doesn't matter. They do bugger all apart from appointing a friend/lover/another failed politician as deputy on £95000 a year for sharpening their pencils.

You'll need to go beyond hypocrisy to be a politician.
