West Brom have lost their last 3 games and Preston have lost their last 4 games - two teams that are in a **** run of form - something has to give on Saturday

Probably a draw then. The likelihood is someone, somewhere will score a 98th minute winner that’ll define the season for at least two clubs… just hope it’s a Preston player, and we keep our end of the bargain.

Gotta be a realist here. As much as I would love results to go our way on Saturday I just cant see it.

West brom have been crap recently but will know all they need to do against a Preston team in terrible form is not lose. Norwich have much better goal difference to us and although its not mathematically impossible, we can overtake them if they concede a load and we win by the most we have all season...

It's a difficult one as we know 1 more home win would have done it... all those games when it just wasnt working and Liam didnt seem to know how to fix it.. such a shame.

Hopefully things go our way of course and we scrape through but I just cant see it unfortunately.

That rough patch when Seri was at AFCON :emoticon-0107-sweat

Actually looking back we didn’t do too bad without Seri, maybe it was when Philogene was out? I remember we struggled for a while

I suppose if we don't make it, the positive is the belief it gives us for next season. So many games where we didn't play to our potential where you could argue we don't even really need to improve next season, just be more consistent.

Talking about bad patches or results doesnt make sense

West brom could also say 1 win in 7 argh

    Fact is
Over 46 games you finish where you deserve

I did have that thought this week with the loss Leeds had to QPR and West Brom to Sheff Weds, our losses to those sides (QPR and Sheff Weds) don't look as embarrassing.

As long as we keep most of our forward players as well as improve signings
I think we will do even better next season

A bit wary about a rebuild as
Boro took ahwile to get going this season

We need to work out how to win games when teams set up ultra defensively, bully us in midfield and play on the break.

Too many drawn and lost games against such sides this season.

You have a point. I think it's a split between teams being ultra defensive against us, and also us allowing them to get back and appear ultra defensive. We've already seen big improvements recently with the attack, speeding things up and playing more incisive passes through and forwards - and we've been scoring more and creating more as a result.

I think a lot of this issue solves itself if we keep playing the way we're playing currently and can pull it into the new season despite the inevitable squad churn.

Whatever happens at the weekend, we're now at least guaranteed to finish no lower than 7th.

    West Brom 0 - 1 Preston
    Birmingham 2 - 0 Norwich

We are 3-0 up 15 mins to go Ohio and Sharp come on and score 3 goals between them to finish 6-0 winners and go into play offs in 5th place

I'll wake up from that nice little dream now
