Brighton - the new Southampton, six little passes inside their own penalty area, sidewards, to the edge of the box, back to the keeper and then give it to Man City and....0-3 :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I actually think it could be more similarities than that. A year ago they were everyone’s second favourite team, a dynamic, attacking, young exciting team.

Then the big boys ripped them apart. Now they Bob along happily enough not really doing anything noteworthy . This summer they’ll probably lose more players and likely the manager too.

Man City's end of season ruthlessness is frustratingly predictable yet admirable.

Every season they become utterly unstoppable towards the end.

Oddly this is what I remember Man United being like under Ferguson, so-so starts but almost always bulletproof from January onwards.

Absolutely, if you take it as a wider aspect Brighton will do a Southampton and all the other fair-to-middlin' teams in the Premier League, eventually they will drop down and end up where we are. Just depends on time, not if, they will get relegated and have some **** seasons, maybe next season, might be five seasons but they will.

What is their spend compared to Chelsea/City/Utd/Arsenal?

Id be surprised if it’s higher than any of them bar possibly Arsenal

So yeah could be shoestring comparatively to those teams, but obviously loads more than most teams in the same division
