Also, fitness pending...wherever he ends up I reckon he notches 20 next year. People will be wondering how and why, but the signs are there, he's been scoring millions at youth level for a while, it'll transition eventually. (DELAP)
I have watched Delap for years, saw him up close in his Derby youth days. He has loads going for him. I doubt Man City sell him, but he will get 1 more year on loan. He would be good here I agree. I would want 1 perm alongside him though and that is Hardie in my ideal world.
Surely Cannon will be available when Leicester go up? Missed most of the season and they'll need better to stay up next year.
Do wonder if we could structure a deal, buy backs/sell on percentage etc to get him fairly cheap £3m £4m? Plucking figures out my arse here but he’s not going to get in at city be daft to not try
We are quite unanimous here that Delap and Hardie would send us on our way! I'd prefer Delap to Cannon simply because he seems more rounded to me. But if we got Cannon on loan I'd be content. All about getting the best out of him. Can't wait for us to end up with Mubama and Burstow.
Good player but I’m not sure we’d pay the fee required for a 27 year old. 2 goals in 18 - a bit of a dry spell since Schumacher left for Stoke. He’ll be looking to resign him imo.
He would be a good signing, he's a goalscoring midfielder with plenty Championship experience, but I am concerned about his injury record.
Big yes from me. Using the free agent market correctly will be a big sign of progress in my eyes. Bulk out the squad with frees with solid track records within the league, the likes of Willock, Alan Browne, Alex Mowett for example, and that allows you to splash on a few high level players and keep spending on a couple rough diamond youngsters every window. And then obviously the loan market is crucial.
Right or left. Would hope he isn't the man to replace Clarke. Doesn't have anywhere close to the output. Solid played and better than most of the young lads we seem to sign from the continent. But , would hope we go a little more ambitious if it was to replace Clarke.
He mainly plays on the right for QPR mate so hopefully a natural left winger gets signed to replace Clarke, said to my dad when the QPR game was on that he would be exactly who I’d go for with his experience (and the fact his contract is up) so happy with this, is it right we were close to signing him in jan?
