The new 1950's bit at Beamish is brilliant. It's like going to your Grandma's house again :emoticon-0100-smile
It’ll be like being born again ! Great times , great lives, nice and simple. Live just up the road so love making use of my yearly ticket - go down just to walk around and remember what it was like when there was no litter , no weeds , no hoodies when it’s summer and 20 degrees …..

My maternal grans house still had a range with ovens alongside the fire. I can just remember her cooking on an open fire with a huge frying pan. I was very young at the time. I also remember when the council built an extension on the back of the house for the indoor toilet and bathroom.
I now feel very old, perhaps I should be an exhibit at Beamish.
I grew up in a New Town and I understand that they have rebuilt a couple of houses from around that time, think they may have come from Aycliffe but stand to be corrected. I would probably feel right at home and back to been a little toddler. How scary is that , I'm still just a young chap, in my head.:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Thought I'd give a bit of an update on this.
The next database matching is next Wednesday.
The transplant co-ordinator said the matching is on the 24th, and all the hospitals informed on Friday 26th. Said she will call me on the 26th, one way or the other.
So a week to go, fingers crossed.
Ha'Way the matching.....

Ahhh Beamish.... Yesterday and tomorrow's prices.

Eeeh you must have heard me ranting in the shop! £11.95 for a tea towel :emoticon-0104-surpr

£12.95 for a bottle of Beamish Pinot Grigio. Now granted I might have accidentally missed the rolling Italian vineyards while I was down the mine or summit, but £12.95 for a bottle of cheap plonk with a Beamish label clagged on it? Haway!

Just seen this. Hope all goes well xx
Thanks @becs, and a belated welcome.

Seen your posts about the cesspit that is rtg, disgusting behavior.....real low life stuff.
You were always a decent, courteous poster over there, so their loss is our gain.
Always enjoyed your input on the astronomy thread, and always enjoyed seeing your dog pictures.

Much more sensible place over here, I think we're called adults.
