Our team without KWP, Downes and THB will not be top 6 in the league. What's our results been like when they haven’t played?

If not wanting to play 1000+ pass football and still lose is being in the "anti-football" brigade then count me in as a founding member. We've just lost to a second string Cardiff who had nothing to play for in a must win game! Had lots of possession though, that'll keep the fans on the edge of their seats

Mate get a grip. If we miss a penalty you'd blame it on Russ.

Today was a really depressing day. Not because we lost but because we just repeated the same **** we have done all season. Created lots of chances against a VERY poor team and somehow fluffed 8 very easy opportunities. Then second half we folded to a little bit of pressure.

We have been failing like this for about 3 seasons jn a row.

The Saints way

No way man.

A good manager wins the game today. Our players were much better than theirs. All we needed to do was be more solid in the second half.

No. All we needed was for our strikers to actually shoot on target. They wasted so many chances. I don't know how any sane person can try and twist it otherwise.

Also, Ipswich lost at Cardiff, so I guess their manager is sh*t too?

Our squad next year will be something like (best 11 first with backup second)

Gk - new player now Baz injured/Lumley
RB - Bree/New player
LB - Manning/Larios
CB - New player/New player
CB - Stephens/New player
CDM - Charles (if Martin is sacked for not taking us up)/New player
CM - Aribo/New player
CM - Smallbone/New player
LW - A Armstrong/Edozie
RW - New player/New player
ST - Mara/Stewart

Zero chance any of the loanees sign permanently if we don’t go up. Be interesting if we can get similar level of loans next year as well due to their wages. Think Schad did some analysis about that and how we wouldn’t be able to afford players like Downes/Fraser/Brooks wages next year with lower parachute payments

So yeah a big turnover in the summer. If we do go up the turnover won’t be as high but there will still be a fair amount, should be interesting

McKenna is manager of the season. He impacts games positively almost every week, culminating in their team being better than the sum of their parts.

We have a manager that just managed to lose to Cardiffs youth team after making the same mistakes he’s made ALL SEASON.

We have lost 10 games from winning positions. Martin has positives, but he is **** at in-game management. Absolutely ****.

You can bury your head in the sand and wear rose tinted glasses if you like. Hopefully our owners won’t.

He hasn’t been good enough at impacting games tactically.

That's still the makings of a good team, plus we've got the likes of Amo and Dibling to step up.

And we'll still be able to outspend 90% of the division. At least 8-10 new faces will come in.

THB is only on 7.5k a week, so there are good cheap players out there. It's just whether we get the scouting bit right.

If we're going to criticise Martin for points lost, shouldn't we also be priaisng him for points won? You win some and you lose some.

We've had a fair few games this season where his subs and last minute goals have won us points.

I get what you're saying, and it does feel, particularly recently, that his subs are making us worse, but his subs and decision making have also won us many points this season.

Yeah it’s the makings of a playoff challenging team I’d say. But it also has the potential to be A LOT weaker than this years squad, obviously depends on the incomings to really know. If we don’t go up this year with a squad this strong then I don’t fancy Martin to get lesser players to perform better

McKenna has had the benefit of knowing his squad from the previous season, in which they pissed League One. In comparison Russ had a squad half of whom had just been relegated dismally, the other half were all totally new to each other. He's obviously made mistakes along the way, but on the whole we are probably the best footballing side in the division. We just lack a clinical striker.

No, no, no. That's not how it works.

Nah it’s the players when we win and Martin when we lose
