Anthony Barry would be my guess. I believe we've followed his progress previously. Maric sounds fascinating too though, I'd be happy with either. People will be skeptical due to the lack of proven experience which I understand. But the flip side of appointments like this is that there is no ceiling. These coaches might be the next Guardiola. Still is a bit safer in this regard. A couple of seasons experience in the top job but also an unknown ceiling.
Completely forgot Barry was still there, he wouldn't be able to start until late in the summer though because of his Portugal role
If you are looking for a young coach who has had a brilliant education then Barry is your lad. Unreal experience already. I was listening to a bit with McKenna from Ipswich recently. He said being at Man Utd just meant the transition to head coach felt comfortable. He understood what coaching with elite coaches was like. Barry could be the next one to follow that sort of path.
If todays isn’t proof that Dodds should be nowhere near our next managerial appointment I don’t know what is. I still stand by my belief that a good manager will get this squad performing, even with our massive shortcomings up front.
If our first choice hasn’t agreed by now I’d be very tempted to have a word with him about the position.
