And how is it that in his pre-match interview Enzo said he wanted a fast start and an early goal to get the fans onside but the team started at their usual snail's pace with the ridiculous tippy-tappy between the back 3. Is everyone on the same page? That aimless passing between Faes and Vestergaard drives me absolutely nuts.

Credit to the team overall though. They were under immense pressure to deliver in front of the home fans. It was a good win in the end and it was great to see the confidence eventually coming back into the players. Let's hope it stays. The wingers both had their best games for a while due to the huge amount of space they were given, but we still lacked a cutting edge with the final ball, and once we get level or ahead we have to keep the momentum going and not allow the opposition the chance to get back into the game.

Just hope Leeds and Ipswich slip up later.

    We needed that result today!

Now, there's good news and bad. The good is that Cov and no one below West Brom can catch us. The bad news is we're going to have to support Cov in 3 of their upcoming games

If it helps us I can forgive myself. Won't make a habit of it though.

EFL Manager of the Season nominations: Farke, McKenna and Rosenior. WTF!

McKenna is absolutely the deserving winner. But how the f@ck has Rosenior got a nomination? He's done nothing outstanding, to my knowledge. Mid table with a middle of the road budget.

I'd understand if, say the Rotherham manager had them 7th on a budget of £5.50, he'd deserve it.

Preston away has been moved to the Monday night. Absolutely gutted as I was hoping to go.

Now means taking time off work, but I still may decide to go, seeing as it’s the last away game (barring any play offs!)

We’ve been given over 5,500 tickets so would have been great on a Saturday afternoon.

Well that was poor. Lost nearly every 50/50 ball, they had more desire and our ball control at the front was diabolical. It was only when Fatawu came on that we created anything. Well done Millwall, you deserved it (and what a goal).

Regarding our perilous financial position, I’m still confused why we’re being charged by both the Premier League and the EFL. To my mind we sold about £100m worth of players last summer in Maddison, Barnes and Castagne alone. If they fell into last season then wouldn’t we have done enough to avoid breaching rules? If they come under this season then how can we be in trouble with the EFL?
Maybe this is why we’re contesting the charges.

There's a "When Your Smiling" podcast on BBC Radio Leicester about it...very interesting. They mentioned the Fofana money and the Maddison transfer in the recent calculations. Basically they said we made £75 million in transfers and still lost £90 million. Absolutely beggars belief!

So they ran at a loss of £160m in a season? That’s losing £3m a week. That can’t be true, can it?
Does the new training complex come into the equation?

I think they said that spending on infrastructure was not in the calculation.

What seems to have gone badly wrong seems, ironically, to be as a result of winning the league. We did that on a shoestring budget. It was the ambition to try to stay in that top 4 ever since that has cost us. The contributor suggested that money would have been better spent on enlarging the ground and providing surrounding hospitality facilities to try and capitalise on the swell of interest in the club after winning the league. That would potentially have brought more money into the club. Instead we splurged the money on big transfer fees (think Slimani) and wages to try and strengthen the squad, which failed spectacularly. That was almost definitely down to the loss of Steve Walsh to Everton on top of the loss of Nigel Pearson. Together they knew how to pick the right players for the team at the right price. Whether Top has been found wanting and whether the board were aware of the repercussions of breaking the rules remains unanswered. Maybe, like Everton, they thought it would be a fine and a slap on the wrist. The other problem is that the process of coming up with punishments are shrouded in secrecy. One minute Everton are being docked 10 points then it's reduced to 6. They have just had another 4 point deduction that was subsequently reduced to 2. This smacks of rules being made up as they go along.

At the end of the day the so-called big 6 teams get the lion's share of any money that's on offer so they can continue their domination of football in this country. The days of the underdog breaking through is well and truly gone. The country- and world-wide interest that LCFC caused in 2015-16 will never happen again. Football has sold its soul to the money men. The majority of fans in this country aren't supporters of the top 6. They want nothing more than a level playing field and something that gives them hope that one day their team can somehow make that big break through. That is what keeps the fans going to the ground. But the reality is that, while we have this set up, that is never going to happen. The same teams will dominate all competitions and TV viewing and continue to get richer while the small clubs who are the real heart of football will continue to struggle. The best that they can hope for is that one of their proteges gets snapped up by a big club so that they can get a cash injection that enables them to carry on.

As I've posted before on the general Prem board - FFPs principle purpose is to sustain the elite club cartel by making it virtually impossible for anyone else to break into it ... not to stop clubs going bust, as purported - clubs like ours Everton, Villa, Newcastle, Forest and others are never going to go bust under the mega rich owners we have ... so why are the FFP / FSP limits set where they are? - simple - to upset the status quo of the elite you need to spend very big (apart from us in 2015 / 16) ... speculate to accumulate as the saying goes ... no surprise that the Big 6 signing up for a Super League came on the back of us taking one of the CL spots...

And now they want to bring in a ‘luxury tax’, which removes the threat of a points deduction, but instead teams overspending are fined. The big teams will just buy success with impunity.

Absolutely spot on. On the podcast they said, where Leicester were 5000/1 it is probably now more like a 50,000/1 chance of someone like Leicester to win the league.

The big 6 demanded a bigger share, else they would form a breakaway league! I say bu8gger off then. There's no thought of the fans.....can you imagine flying to Italy, Spain, Germany etc every other week for an away game?!

All of the posts above are spot on. The worst thing that could have happened to football is a small club winning the league, unless it was your club, lucky us. The top six then threatened to break away but to prevent that rules were changed to ensure it would/could never happen again. I agree our processes since then have gone wrong, spending big to try and stay there but not managing it. It all comes back to income vs expenditure and we just done have it. Have to agree with Smile podcast that in hindsight the money spent on the training ground (which doesn't count in FFP) would have been much more wisely spent on expanding the ground ensuring more income. But hey-ho what a ride, we are so lucky to be around during these crazy City times. Desperate for another tilt at the impossible so come on Foxes!!

We are so lucky to have witnessed the last 10 years. My dad was 77 when we won the league, he never expected to see it happen. I was resigned to the O’Neill era being as good as it got. My son was 7 when we won the league, it’s all been down hill for him from then. Where I live I’m surrounded by mostly Wolves fans, if I mention 2016 to them they moan about me still going on about it! I tell them I’ll be dining out on it until I die. That a ‘small’ club won the premier league is bordering on a miracle, the fact it was us, in the manner we did it makes it even sweeter.
Happy to have these memories while we go through a sticky patch.
