I'd be asking about her allegiances now, fair enough if it was Lawrie McMenemy.

Was in The Blacksmiths Table in 2010 for my birthday, very small but expensive local restaurant, the missus booked us a table for a nice romantic meal. Was the night after Wolves beat Spurs and we were in the CCC.

In walks a bloke I recognised so I said "Hiya mate, y'alright?"

"Hiya, yeah mate... You?" He replied.

    Our lasses face dropped.

"Yeah man I'm fine, cheers" I said, smiling.

She was gutted. I asked her what the hell's up and she said "Typical, I book us a nice quiet table out for something special and one of your mates or workmates turns up ffs. Now they're gonna be eating with us, talking to us etc"...

I said "Jesus, calm down. Don't you recognise him?"

"No, who is he like?" She asked.

I looked at her in disbelief... "It's Mick McCarthy man!!! He's the friggin Wolves manager!"

She paused, then clicked on that he used to be at Sunderland... "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Is it him?????"...

    And all was well.

Turns out he's a regular as he discovered the place when he was the mackems manager so books a table when he's in the North East. Nice guy actually haha!

That must have been strange, seeing a football manager in a public place. People in the press have always seemed to think he was a nice guy. Remember the admirable way he handled the Roy Keane in situation in the 2002 World Cup.

Yeah I think he's a class act, always have. Used to like him as mackem manager too, it's just his football I don't like. Still, watching Wolves is like watching Barcelona compared to Stoke.

That was another time he was brilliant, only time I've genuinely felt sorry for a Sunderland manager.

Bored before I go to work and not worth a thread on its own, here's how we'd be getting on if Lawro's predictions had been right.

    Arsenal 1 - 2 L
    Sunderland 1 - 1 D
    Fulham 1 - 0 W
    QPR 1 - 2 L
    Villa 0 - 2 L
    Blackburn 2 - 1 W
    Wolves 1 - 2 L
    Spurs 0 - 2 L
    Wigan 2 - 0 W
    Stoke 0 - 2 L
    Everton 1 - 2 L
    Man City 0 - 2 L

So we'd have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 8, scoring 10 and conceding 18 in the process. This would leave us with 10 points which in the current table would put us 17th with the 6th worst goal difference of -8 (considering he never goes for more than a 2 goal deficit, that's not that good!)

Compare that with our actual performance (won 7, drawn 4, lost 1, for 18, against 11, GD +7 with 25 points) and you can clearly see that Lawro hasn't got a ****ing clue what he's talking about.

Getting miniOT ready for a birthday party soon.

The wife is away in Manchester for the weekend, the au pair has the weekend off and I'm now bricking it when it comes to choosing her clothes. If anyone can make a fashion faux pas; it's me.

Can I emotionally scar a child with my concept of colour coordination?
