No it's a bad spell due to lack of confidence in a young group of players, we are going to have bad spells . First season promotion, 2nd season play offs and third season mid table it's not that bad for the owners 3 years in charge
https://theathletic.com/5363233/2024/03/29/will-still-manager-profile/ Long read on Will Still published last week for anyone who cares
As fans we need to recognise we might not know best and to stop So the dynamite I bought on the dark web to level the SoL... Edit: (I'm no paranoid conspiracy fan but I'm going to get arrested for that tomorrow)
His brother might be his assistant at Reims, certainly one of the coaches. He's not moving if he can't bring his own staff. Wouldn't want him if he did make the jump and left his ****ing brother out of a job.
It's a great read. He's the perfect fit and a ridiculously ambitious appointment if we could pull it off. A point to consider about Still is that his route into coaching has been unorthodox. He was a video analyst in his 20's without his badges, in foreign countries (though not totally alien) and always getting interim roles on a temporary basis when clubs were in trouble or transition. How impressive must he be for these clubs to look at the 20 something year old video analyst/assistant and ask him to lead them? Without a career as a player or his coaching badges, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt or second chances that others get. He gets opportunities by maximising the tools at his disposal.
Exactly mate. Seems a really good fit for what we want. For him to achieve what he has, with his background, and his age, he must be impressive. He's multi lingual aswell which will improve us massively. Feels as though the french lads either feel left out and need an arm around the shoulder or need a massive kick up the arse and he can do both.
A young group of players need a proper manager. Sunderland Afc need a proper manager not a bloke who wouldn't be wanted as a no.1 by any other championship club.
If you're happy with Dodds/Proctor and the bloke who thought Beale was a good idea continuing to influence who manages the team crack on mate.
When did I ever say I was happy? ****ing hell man! If you think stamping your feet and calling them on a message board is going to get a coach that meets your approval then you can crack on!
I'm quite happy to wait until the close season to appoint the RIGHT Head Coach rather than shoe horning somebody in. Dodds and Procter didn't ask to be in charge, they are trying to help the club out whilst we find that Head Coach, but you already knew that.
Doesn't mean it's any less incompetent for them to be the man for the best part of half a season, effectively writing it off completely. It really is some screw up mind. Imagine if you bought a half season ticket at Christmas ? Pure relegation fodder. Not many people at the helm get allowed to bin off half a season at professional football and live to tell the tale.
In an ideal world you would have the replacement ready to step straight in, we didn't. Again. However as previously stated I am prepared to wait to get the right head coach at the end of the season. Nobody is saying its the ideal situation but it is what it it is. Feel free to come back to me if we don't appoint the right coach at the end of the season.
