i get people frustration and the discussion on the concerns, but last two season like them or not speakmans decision were right and it got us promoted and top 6, this year his decisions have been poor and instead of giving him the chance to sort it out. a big portion want him and KLD out, if that's going to happen every-time we'll never build anything in the long run. it will just be rinse and repeat , 6-8 weeks ago we were still in the hunt for the top 6, i couldn't stand Charlie methven put one thing it looks he might be right on is, a big portion of are fans are chasing every owner out, he got slated for it at the time, and i thought he was being a dick about it. but at the moment we are proofing that he was correct
oops, Anyway my theory on Will Still is that it was all set up until this 5 million euro release charge appeared and they decided to wait until the close season.
year 4 chase them out year 5 new owners years 6 another good season under new owners years 7 poor season under owners, sack the lot year 8 new owners...... rinse and repeat
What's the point sacking them now? The club is 100% doing the right thing by waiting until summer to appoint the new man and giving him a clean slate and a bit of time to get to know the squad and get his ideas across, imo. They gave Dodds/Proctor a chance to see if they could step up to the main job and perform miracles like they did last time they were in charge (the Leeds game, etc). By the time it became apparent they couldn't, the season was already gone. No point rushing into another head coach appointment at that point.
A bit more than opinion, he is a discipline lead coach, but can put his arm around 1 if needed. The Sheff utd captain last week said his tactics were spot on, we just needed 3 more players to make a very decent team. Imho yes I do think it would suit both parties.
I would hope we're a long way from any kind of majority wanting KLD out. Most of the unhappiness is directed towards Speakman for things that are literally his job.
I've been convinced all along he's the one they want. This will probably turn a few people against him, but I think he is just the type that KLD and Speakman would like. Plus, he's multilingual. His profile is quite high, so the press will see it as a coup, and I think that will appeal to them as, if the press are saying that, it will go some way to appeasing the more fragile elements of our fanbase.
Dont agree with the shouts for KLD to go at this stage. I think this is where I am split on the Speakman debate. I think you have put it really well here that should we just pull the plug following one bad season after a lot of positive work he has done prior, or should we see if he learns and potentially see bigger improvements going forward. Its the level of mistakes that makes me think are they too major where he deserves to go now (Beale ffs). Im torn down the middle with Speakman and im going to wait until the dust settles at the end of the season. On Methven though, I mean it was defo time for Short to go and I 100% support the fans against Donald/Methven but not KLD (even though I dont think its a majority by any means). I take it you think we should stick with Speakman?
Hecky is the one for me. Has already been labelled as the cheap option (whatever the **** that means) though so he'd be starting on the back foot.
I agree with all of this. Thought hes was a cert when TM went, possibly a lack of research to realise how tough it was going to be to get him out of his contract back then. Id be happy with him, huge risk as is appointment but I could definitely see the logic of going for him.
But depends on who owns the club next season. If KLD stays we as a group need a change in direction. If a new group come in we need to see a plan, that is viable affordable and workable. With a clean sweep of DOF and existing coaching staff.
That's the problem isn't it - if they want him and he's available, appoint him now. If we appoint him in the summer, why have we not appointed him earlier. There will inevitably be grumbling if we eventually give it to someone we could have put in place now.
Money mate seems to be the issue and control of incoming and outgoings, I think these aline to the same thing.
He's still being paid off by Sheff Utd on PL wages and he'd be blamed for results from now till end of season. He wouldn't take it now
I definitely don’t want to see him go. I quite like the fact the club and KLd are growing together. We’ll get it right eventually
I don’t think we need this tbh. Some additions or adjustments at first team level but we don’t need to overreact
No its just a what if mate, nothing more, not saying owt is happening, it's NOT. BUT WHAT IF. I dont agree with your, it just needs, I think we need a decent change. Not owner btw. But below that we need to have a manager who knows what's to do
