It's a fair point.
With a better pitch we'd surely have had even more possession.
And we all know that possession wins games.
p.s. there wasn't that much wrong with the pitch on Friday. Not perfect but not awful. We lost 0-2 against a relegation side and didn't manage even ONE shot on target. More BS.

It was clearly a tactical decision, partly because LR was worried about his lack of pace against their quick forwards but also because he wanted extra bodies further forward to wrestle control of the game away from them and for 85 minutes it largely worked.

Greaves is ready for the prem, and the main reason he has stopped the shirt tugging is he has worked incredibly hard on getting quicker this season. He will be a big miss as I can't see him staying, macca isn't anywhere near good enough in a back 4 but maybe in a back 3 with Jones and greaves alongside and coyle and Giles as Wing backs, something I'm surprised we haven't tried.

As good as people say we were. The only reason we were in the game is because Leeds missed countless sitters.

We were very good inbetween both boxes last night but terrible in theirs (Is anyone surprised at this point?). But Leeds still created 6/7 glorious opportunities compared to our 2.

They couldn’t really deal with the possession we had but in transition again we are incredibly vulnerable and we could’ve easily lost the game 4/5 despite the pretty possession between the boxes.

A back 3/5 isn’t the system so I’m not sure why you’d be surprised we haven’t tried it?

I thought last night was a big improvement from the Stoke game. We passed the ball quicker and were braver (but still not quite brave enough). We didn’t deserve to lose 3-1 but as others have said, it’s not the away performances that are worrying.

I think after Cardiff, the next two homes games (Middlesbrough and QPR) are crucial to Rosenior’s fate. They are both winnable games and will of course decide whether we are still in the playoff hunt. I think they may also show whether the players have his back.

He hasn't plateaued when it comes to position Vs budget yet, and that's what he's ultimately going to be judged on.

Interesting - how do we gauge this? For example - IF we have a top 6 budget and we finish below 6th?

Morton is playing too well for us to have a chance of signing him. He’s surely off to a lower premier league team next season to develop further

Is he? I thought he had a stinker against West Brom - his aimless ball leading indirectly to their equalizer - and he almost gifted Stoke a goal on Saturday. For me (barring last night) his performances have dropped of markedly in recent weeks

Unfortunately, I can see the Middlesbrough game being another ponderous performance. They are making a late run for the play-offs and currently sit just above us, so probably a 0-0 or 1-1 drab affair, which won't tell us anything we don't know already.

Sort of agree but Byron like Townsend of the Baggies stood him up as soon as he got the ball and he got stopped . He’s young he needs to learn an option eg take it sideways infield and lay it off or if we see this we get a man inside of him anyway to give the outlet . It’s about coaching and learning . He passed more for the under 21’s the other week and to be fair he did last night which is good.

As someone else has said on another thread... Philos problem and the attack in general is that by the time they have received the ball, the opposition have had time to get into shape. He's invariably double marked and some of his not Messiesque goals this season have been by being able to run at players not right on top of him. Again its down to the speed of transition of play and missing Delap more with every single game that goes by.. thats how important he is/was for us.

Everyone needs to stop banging on about how much we miss Delap. Yes he is a big player for us but it’s a team game and we should be able to cope without him. We are Hull City not Delap AFC. Around the Christmas period it was all about how we just missed Philogene and we would be so much better once he’s back. His injury is not what has thrown our season off the rails.

did people really think some loanees in january are going to propel us to promotion?

I just cant justify the following.
Greaves is banned so instead of bringing in Macca he moves Coyle to centre back and Slater to right back
Coyle gets injured so instead of bringing in Macca he brings on Christie
Is Macca really that bad that he has to play half the defence out of position?

Doesn't look good for Macca's long term prospects with us does it? IF he stays beyond the summer, then it looks like he'd be even more of a bit-part player next season than he has been this. Maybe he's not good enough to help us push on to the next level - but he certainly did a good job for us when we were in the mire last season.

Delap has been a massive miss. However, he got injured at the start of the January window. What some of us can't understand is why we didn't sign another striker when the need to do so was obvious.

Coyle srarted at cb and we played a cm at Rb, even when coyle came off Rosie put Christie on….thats got to be a kick in the bollocks for macca…..regardless of how Rosie will dress it up
