And every poor result sets us further and further back when it comes to next season.

This time last year we were on the crest of a wave with everyone raving about our young fearless talents. Now we're getting humped by a team with no win in 18.

At the moment I expect most of the lads we would want to keep to progress will be looking at moving on.
If the lads want to leave because of a bad run of games that they were apart of then not sure they are the players for us

The players will be wanting a manager they believe in, whether that man is appointed now or at the end of the season

I worry as well mate and today was a disgrace, im so embarrassed about the result today

But the most important thing is nailing this appt and if thats waiting 2 months (6 games) then im ok with that.

Aslong as the appt is then made as close to the season ending as possible

It simply cannot drag out into the summer

The new manager comes in with a fresh slate in the summer

If a new manager came in now and we had a poor end of season (say they lose 5 out of 5), the vocal minority would be demanding a change

As long as the new manager is in comfortably before preseason id be happy (depending on who it is of course)
You would really hope that if target number 1 would come in now that everyone would give them time and not judge anything on the last few games of a bad season.

I can see why they would hold off, but I can also see the sense of getting them in now (if available)

Feels a bit like a no win situation

Youd hope so mate but a minority now have it in for the club no matter what happens

If our 1st choice is available now then we should get them in now

It's always hard when results are going wrong, I think all of us can see areas that need looking at and re evaluation.

The one thing that stood out today taking to people was they just want to see some hope and a recognition that changes are needed.

I find it hard to believe that people within the club don't recognise that changes are required. I thought the minutes from the fans forum thing reflected that they do. It's a difficult time of the season to make big changes though. Appointing a new head coach being the only tangible change they could make. If the man they want isn't available, even that won't happen. I can't see them being willing to give it to anyone who could be a letdown PR wise.

Its probably been coming for a while, confidence is low and we haven't been playing well.

As much as it hurts losing like that, it feels a bit like something the young lads needed. To learn from and develop
Agreed, theyll learn so much in this run - now just need to hope they learn quickly

Couple more championship ready players will make a huge difference

The minutes are lip service the club have to do. I wouldn't expect them to be earth shattering and certainly wouldn't want them to reveal strategy.

I hope the club do learn from this, this summer will tell us more, but there i see no issue discussing it, although I also appreciate it does over take things.

The worst thing they could do right now is rush into an appointment to try and appease fans. Let's be honest, we have nothing to play for and for all we know lots could be going on behind scenes to try and be better prepared for next season. While it feels like the end of world right now, I genuinely think we are on a decent path and just need a couple of better players and keep the core of team. And a proper manager who can inspire and unite the fanbase.

I remember back in the summer you mentioned how important a CDM was and I thought we could cope without one.

Boy how wrong was I with that
Yep i think its arguably the most important position in football.

Rodri is obviously the stand out player in that position and hes more important to coty than haaland is

Hopefully we get a quality cdm in this summer

I think at times we have missed the experience this season, however the more seasons these players play the more experienced they become.
It's getting the balance right time, allow the players a couple of seasons to gain the experience or bring some in.
I'm all for giving them time but I don't think everyone else is.
If we get it right we can do both but the players we bring it have to be right.
I'm not sure Dack is here for the right reasons, Evans however is a prime example, he's been a huge miss and I think Neil and Ekwah would have benefited even more had he been fit.
If we can get a couple in on frees, that aren't on silly wages with the right temperament could be ideal.
They don't have to play week in week out, but having them around the dressing room and training pitch could be priceless
With a couple of exceptions (Hemir and Burstow) I agree with all you’ve said.

09 sent his email then had a **** game. They’ll sell more tickets if they have less **** results not through emails. They should have got an experienced head in till the seasons end. It was an error giving to to Dodds. It’s one of Speakmans biggest errors I think. I like Dodds but he’s deep in it now.

I still think Dan Neil could be a hell of a player as cdm. But I'd really like another Evans to be there this summer

Same here but i feel neil is best going box to box at the minute. A quality cdm will help take Neil's game to a whole new level (if he is still with us)
I really rate Neil, he's become our heartbeat. I'd love to see him higher up with his passing but I like him sitting deep dictating our play.

Not bad for one of our own
