Again, how is all that their fault ? If they turned around and said they didn’t want to stand in they would have been vilified, they are in a very difficult position, there is no way they should lose their jobs over this.
I wouldnt sack them, that should be done by a head coach in my opinion. For all I know Dodds is highly thought of as a coach. I would certainly bring in a new head coach now, and his team. They need to experience first hand the gaps in the squad before the summer in my opinion. Cooper is sat on his hands, so is Parker, so is Heckingbottom, so is Solskjaeer. The list goes on. I doubt in work coaches are looking with interested eyes at us to be honest, at least non of their calibre.
Agree with that, let the new man have a few games and the summer to really hit the ground running. If he wants to bring in 2 or 3 coaches then let him, move dodds and proctor back to player development
I am not in a knee jerk mood, but if they have their 1st choice and he is in work he would be getting an ultimatum tonight. Join now or dont. If not then go for a second choice and get new ideas in now. In my opinion momentum is huge, and we above most clubs know how it carries over from one season to the next. We need a reboot now, not in May or June. Bloody Euros in the way as well this summer which we know will put loads of stuff on hold An appointment now, allowing 5 or 6 games of learning and planning is of fundamental importance in my opinion.
I don’t see the point personally mate. If the first choice isn’t available until the summer then we may as well wait. We aren’t going down and we certainly aren’t going up. Mind you, the first choice is probably ****e anyway so…
I think after the Beale situation, they'll want the next man to be acceptable to as much of the fanbase as possible. My gut feeling is they want Will Still because it will be seen as a coup. It will satisfy those who complain about them not spending on coaching appointments, it can be spun as being ambitious, and he fits the profile that has been suggested as their ideal. Even the out of work coaches that you mentioned earlier will be viewed as being unambitious in some quarters. I'm not saying that I think this is what they should. I just think that's how they could be thinking.
exactly why cant wait and get left behind and if it exact same model we be in a very big relegation scrap next season IMHO
The same 'model' that got us to 6th last yr?? We had a poor window and we messed up in replacing TM but we still have a lot going for us Just need to get this appt right If the 1st choice is employed or wont sign until the summer then we should wait. We need to make sure its the right appt, doesnt matter if they come in now or in the summer - just has to be the right one
I hear the argument mate, and under most situations would make sense. For me though this is absolute freefall. Today was a shock to the system like nom before this year. Every chance we end up with 2 draws and rest losses this year. That will be massive pyschologically on young players on my opinion. Expecting a summer reset to be effective, after that, is a massive gamble, particularly if we punt on somebody like Still. Reality, in my opinion, is right now we need some real experience somewhere in the building. Looks on all levels we are showing our total lack of footballing know how, boardroom to 1st team. I worry a lot for next season as it stands, we look genuinely terrible.
we had Stewarts goals and Amad last season we would been in big trouble without Clarke this season it very unlikely he here next season
News flash: club struggles without best player. Would be the same for everyone in the league. But this time, unlike with Amad, we will get a huge chunk of cash to replace Clarke.
I worry as well mate and today was a disgrace, im so embarrassed about the result today But the most important thing is nailing this appt and if thats waiting 2 months (6 games) then im ok with that. Aslong as the appt is then made as close to the season ending as possible It simply cannot drag out into the summer The new manager comes in with a fresh slate in the summer If a new manager came in now and we had a poor end of season (say they lose 5 out of 5), the vocal minority would be demanding a change As long as the new manager is in comfortably before preseason id be happy (depending on who it is of course)
And every poor result sets us further and further back when it comes to next season. This time last year we were on the crest of a wave with everyone raving about our young fearless talents. Now we're getting humped by a team with no win in 18. At the moment I expect most of the lads we would want to keep to progress will be looking at moving on.
