because we are clearly capable, norwich will say the same if they fail as will coventry and any team has a great chance to win the playoffs, first qualify
Hindsight is wonderful isn't it? Not sure why you're throwing Connolly in though, he's scored 8 this season. Oscar outside his purple patch at the start of last season scored about the same.
When the owner says in January, on a club platform designed to communicate expectations with fans that " all I care about from this point is progress progress progress but 8th this year will represent progress I think" then he's setting himself up if he's lying. You're making assumptions.
Hes hardly going to put extra pressure on rosie by saying he will be disappointed if we dont finish top 6 But i can almost guarantee he will feel that if we dont
The only reason we got him was he was on a huge goal scoring drought at Everton and they wanted to ship him out. So not sure about that.
I agree we are capable, along with others who are also capable. It's not the greatest basis for a top 6 expectation though.
So he said that and must mean it, but LR saying he thinks he has a top 6 squad isnt him meaning it and you claiming "he isn't going to say anything else is he".... Do people only mean and believe what they say when it suits you? Haha
Ok he said he believes he has.... My point still stands though doesn't it, Acun means what he says, but LR doesn't. Only because it suits your argument... Stop talking ****e FFS
Start of the season. It’s on video, first day bay he said he had a top 6 squad without making any signings
But why is everybody blaming Liam how do we know Ohio was his choice. Maybe we couldn't get the strikers we wanted so a collective decision was made to go for attackers and take a punt on Ohio
You do know the difference between something stated as fact, and something stated as aspiration don't you?
I think Omur was one of those signings that's too good to pass up on for the money we paid. We didn't necessarily need a number #10, but the opportunity to sign a player of his calibre meant we would be daft not to and LR obviously thought that given our system, he'd have a role to play, which by all accounts he has, he's been excellent. Ohio I'm not so convinced on, it felt like a Football Manager "**** I need a striker but I've spent all my transfer fees and it's 4pm on January 31st" signing. I like to think I'm pretty clued up on European football and I hadn't heard of him or that he'd done anything of note. He seems to have a bigger reputation from playing for the Dutch international youth teams, which is exactly the reason Harvey Vale seemed so appealing when he signed and look how he turned out. There might be more to it in terms of his ability, but if he's a striker we're bringing in to help us get promoted, it isn't exactly the ideal time to be developing a player that doesn't even belong to us. I hope he does well, I really do, but I'm just not convinced from what I've seen so far that he fits into our system. Unless the system changes, and that's not going to happen.
Because it doesn't suit the narrative of those attempting to frame their own imagined expectation as fact, against all the available evidence to the contrary.
Agree Ohio was a panic signing, but how many clubs were chasing a striker throughout the window and how many got one? It's the toughest window to get one and we got two in (Sharp and Ohio). The fact neither has worked out is not hugely shocking.
