Yes we've improved from last season, but that doesn't mean come the end of the season if we miss out on the play offs due to our lack of goals then it's a massive missed opportunity considering how close we are and the backing LR has had....and if that's the case then a question has to be asked of Liam, if as you say it's his job to get the best out the squad. Because right now he's either getting the best out the squad and the squad he has isn't good enough to score the goals needed to get a play off spot or he's not getting the best out of them. Which is it?
No, everyone knows it's extremely difficult to get a good striker in any window let alone Jan, what people are saying is that if Ohio is the best we could do then there's something wrong.... Stop trying to make things up
I think its as simple as Ohio looked like he would be able to do what Delap does, but the championship has been a bit of a step up too soon for him in terms of general play (he may still play a part). Rosie will learn from it and probably not do the same thing again.
He's not working with a top 6 budget, nor does he have the 6th best squad in the league - particularly when it comes to strength in depth. If we do achieve that he will have overachieved based on the resources/backing he has available. He'll have created the opportunity, as opposed wasting it. Now call me naive, but the owner stating he'd be happy with 8th this year and progress year on year going forward, and the fact he's just improved Liam's contract, suggests to me that he's more than meeting expectations.
Absolutely none of that means anything. Or are you saying you can only be a play off team if you have a top 6 budget? And you don't think we have a top 6 squad? LR seems to think he has....are you disagreeing with him and saying he's wrong? Wrong and wrong. We absolutely have top 6 squads in the league and we also spend more then 18 other teams
We spend more than the 6 parachute clubs and the likes of Stoke and Boro do we? Yeah, OK then. Did you listen to the Kieran Maguire 1904 club episode where he laid clear that were well under the average for championship losses to June 23? The club have said themselves they can't compete financially with at least 6 parachute clubs. Are they liars?
I'm saying that if you outperform your budget, especially starting from a low base and not having had the cumulative investment over years that others have had underpinning this years budget also, then you've ultimately overachieved. No matter how much you try to spin it otherwise. (And LR has said he has a squad capable of achieving it - not quite the same as having a top 6 squad - but of course he's not going to come out and say any different, now is he? )

Not quite sure what I'm spinning there... Glad you've said your last paragraph though, just remember that next time you say claim Acun/LR/the club said xyz so they must mean it.... Well this time next year you'll have your chance to point to all the published accounts and I'm sure (sic) we'll be running a top 6 budget... But I'm very sure if we did have a top 6 budget then the owner wouldn't be volunteering information such as top 8 representing progress this year, Tan wouldnt be saying we cant compete with parachute clubs, and they wouldnt have made it harder for themselves to get rid of Rosenior only 2 months ago. And yes, you've had a pretty clear narrative undermining Liam at every opportunity since at least the summer.
Newcastle said that, but it's part of the same narrative that we should expect top 6 and anything less is failure.
Why? We're in the mix with 2 or 3 others having come from a much lower base. It would be a tangible achievement if we did it, but we're not likely to win it.
