Been super busy last couple of weeks on a big deal and come back and check in every now and then. Blimey this forum has gone to **** in the last couple of weeks. Too much one-up-manship. Too much "my opinion means more than your opinion". Too much "told you I was right". All just utter nonsense. Its a shame. As for me it was literally my one vehicle for talking about Sunderland now that twitter has gone to ****e and my sunderland supporting relatives are dead. You now can't post anything in here without somebody telling you you're wrong. Its like twitter now.
Every time Bob posts some pounce. I find it boring and petty. Like being back on a school playground. Some decent posters have been lost from this place recently. Hope more dont leave because of this sort of crap.
I expect you're including me in that and doing what you're criticising me for ... ... saying I'm boring and petty, posting crap and costing the forum decent posters. That's fair enough, it's your opinion and you're entitled to have a go at people. I'll do my best to ignore Bob and his stories about Eric Roy openly touting himself for the Sunderland job and the owner not answering the phone, etc etc etc. The floor is all yours ....
And what are they? A decision to make as much as they commercially could from the BCB, which included letting the mags decorate it. The thinking that they wouldn't be challenged?
I feel similarly about this site, due to distance and feelings of isolation from God's Country. I feel that there have been some attitudes expressed that I've found pretty inflammatory and that's ratcheted up the tension. The negativity is tedious, which also creates tension. Things haven't been right with the club and the team but the constant bashing, as opposed to a discussion, makes people react. Having said that, last year I took a 6 month break from reading anything on here because of some of the attitudes. I promise myself every day that I'll stop again but I get dragged back in.
Easy for me to say but I wouldn’t take these things to heart, we’re all passionate about SAFC otherwise we wouldn’t be on here, sometimes emotions flare up, sometimes people just have genuine disagreements. I get in a few scrapes on here but I don't know anybody to hold a grudge
Have to be honest, I go to the match, see our strikers struggling like kids against men then rant a bit on here. Then I’m ok Sunday. It bugs me every week I go. Still, I see things that put mine to shame. People seem to see zero positives and actively campaign to get people out and load peoples bullets. There’s only 3 or 4 like. It’s still better than RTG like where there are about 90.
I've never understood people who see arguing as an Olympic sport. My ex wife was a master of it, which is why I divorced her! We are from all walks of life, have differing views on almost everything and have different posting styles, some humourous, some aggressive, some intelligent and some absolutely barking mad, but we all have one thing in common.... Our love of Sunderland AFC and wanting the very best for it.
As I have said to you before mate, there can be just as much tension created from the positive side of the fence as well. A happy medium is needed although with a stupid international break now upon us there isn't even a game to break up the week
A disagree button would probably help at the moment We all love the club, it’s our club at the end of the day, we are having a tough time and people are passionate and will defend or criticise the club, the one constant is the passion for the club. This place is still great, have good night everyone
Fingers crossed we get a new Head Coach during the break. At the very worst, we'll have something different to argue about
I'm not expecting one to be announced till the end of the season. Which may cause arguments but I can kind of see the logical sense in waiting
I think you're probably right to be honest. Maybe we should just concentrate on discussing who it will be. We all know the arguments surrounding all of the recent issues.
I rely on people on here with for better knowledge of European football to suggest names. I'm still coming to terms with the fact whoever we get might only be here 18 to 24 months
