Only bit of quality we had today. I’m torn with Neil. I love the lad but a part of me would love to see him performing in a good prem team. Unfortunately think that may happen in the summer from everything I hear in my limited circle of lads with contacts to various clubs. The vultures are circling
Pretty sure he will go mate. Big offers already prepared, probably up to Dan if he digs his heels in and wants to stay. Part of my concern about this aimless drift we are in is lads will rightly question why to give it another year. Last season we were on the verge, now we are miles off.

Why appointments and transfers have to be bang on in the summer. Get that right and equip a strong squad then players will be more confident and start believing again.

Absolutely abysmal defending.
Standing in the South Stand watching it close up and the left side had no idea.
Two or three times arguing among themselves, no game plan whatsoever.

Really good and worrying point. Very easy to convince players on the cusp of premier league football to stay another season last summer, it’s a tough sell at the moment. On the other hand there are players I was worried about losing last summer that I can’t see having that premier league interest this summer. Likes of Ekwah really need to get back on track

Could argue if we had a decent midfield they would’ve found the striker.. what do you mean low forward passing he’s an 8 that should be the least he should be doing. As I’ve mentioned he can’t play as a 6 and he couldn’t kick my arse if I was bent over in front over him so he’s limited to playing that 8 role which he plays fairly well but he’s not as good as some on here think. Comparing him to Hendo is laughable.

He’s a completely different player to Henderson who has a great engine, a true box to box, a runner, Neil finds those forward passes between narrow spaces, through balls. Ekwah and Jobe do not have that.

They’ve never been given a chance though Ekwah is playing as a 6 and Jobe as a 10. I’m not saying either of them will be world beaters by any means just stating that Neil is the easiest replaced imo because we have a few regulars who’d thrive there who are currently having to play out of position.

Only 20 I believe and I think we need 3 strikers in the summer. Only seen him twice mind but looks a handful, not saying I want him as the main man but could be an option as a third choice
He fits the "model" to be fair. Burstow will be returning to Chelsea, we know hemir isn't ready only leaves Rusyn who I think may be pushed out on the left next season. One needs to be a tall, strong target striker Moore type.

Neil is decent but we’ve established he’s hopeless in front of goal and can’t really play as a 6. He’s limited to the 8 which he does play well but we’ve got Ekwah and Jobe who have all of the attributes to do what Neil does. I’d be surprised if we sell him and sign someone to replace him rather than moving Ekwah there. Have to remember Neil was also dropped in L1 because he was poor toward the end of the season. Good player but not irreplaceable.
Id have to disagree with you, Neil is levels above any of our CMs

He isnt great in front of goal but still scored 5 goals this season n his timing if runs into the box is different level - 5 goals from cm for someone who cant shoot is impressive

Not sure what your getting at mentioning hin being dropped in L1 has to do wuth anything, that was 2 yrs ago- hes a totally different player now

Clarke struggled in L1 n was on the bench in the playoff final, now is a stand out

CM recruitment in the summer iz just as important as CF, i dont mind neil going if the price is right but going to be really hard to replace him

Yeah, like I say only seen the lad twice so could be ****e! But come the summer we have no natural strikers that are good enough to be in the squad. I’d be concerned if 2 of rusyn/hemir/mayenda are our options up front going into next season

Neil will be the toughest player to replace, and that includes Clarke. He’s the engine of the team.

On what basis? Stuttgart are still looking at Ekwah and they’re sat 4 points behind Bayern so they must see something in him.

Neither Neil or Ekwah are defensive players, they are being forced to play there due to lack of proper defensive midfielders. Both are very good midfielders and hopefully we can recruit in the right areas to free them up.

Neil has interest from abroad too.
