I used to buy the season opener one to get the little league ladders, with the club cards so you could put your own little premier league table on your bedroom wall and adjust it every week. The only other way you could look at the PL table was to go on Ceefax! I used to live on Ceefax on Matchday if I wasnt at a game,
Yup, I remember all that, weird because recent stuff I rarely remember,must be age. Like you I used to get all the popular football magazines, I remember the league ladders, enjoyed them in our simple world, I wonder how many people remember Carlisle United being top of the league! It was probably only for a week or two. I couldn't remember where I got the league ladders from, but I guess it must have been those mags now you've said it. That particular front cover I always remember Malcolm McDonald for the five goals he scored against Cyprus for England - I had to google to see if he is still alive, he is.
