I agree that the sacking of Mowbray wasn't a mistake, it was the choice of replacement.

Even though on paper, everyone would have presumed Beale was a perfect candidate.

Problem with a young team, when they start to lose faith they don't have those experienced heads to lift everyone up

He's not even 17 until the summer, looks like he's going to be a Premiership player in the near future. Hope he stays with you boys for at least 2-3 years as he's just the kind of prospect that gets gobbled up by teams that then never play them. Obviously I want him to come to us but I have a suspicion that a team will come in for him in the next couple of years who buy and loan back to you and I just don't think Sunderland would accept that from Newcastle.

Most of their fans I know really didn't want him tbh. It's not that they didn't give him whatever support he deserved just that after how things went in Scotland there were some severe reservations which turned out to be valid. I'd say he was an underwhelming appointment who duly underwhelmed.

Also what kind of a name is that? I don't think it's possible, even Marc-Vivien Foe had a better injury record than Owen.

Can see why Leicesters form has gone down the pan. We have dominated them and they’re clinging on this half.

He’s just been up against Winks and Dewsbury-Hall, a premier league midfield pair next season and he bossed them. 16 year old. Serious talent we have on our hands. His dad told me there’s a lot of interest in him from a few German clubs. The big guns…

100% where I'd want my kid to go rather than any of the big 6 in this country. Dortmund, Leipzig, etc have a clearly better pathway to developing players. When we lost Bobby Clark (who was a very good prospect but not a great one) I was happy for him to leave as we were a terrible place for any youngsters to develop under Ashley/Bruce. Liverpool was a decent option for him but it's taken him a few years to get real gametime and he's at a club with a better record than most.

He looks a good player but with everyone fit how often does he play? Regardless though he's good enough to play in the PL and he'll move on if he can't get game time over the next couple of years.

This is very true lmao <cheers>
Although if you look on our board - I had us to win the other week lol
I just have a gut feeling for Arsenal this season I think we will come in 3rd
Which we would all have taken at start of the season I reckon

The Mackem walking down the street wouldn't accept that from Newcastle.

But the Sunderland board, who are a bunch of businessmen and don't give a flying ****, would absolutely 100% accept it from Newcastle.

They've already displayed on multiple occasions they're willing to let staff switch to us, paint their club bar black and white, let us nick youth players.

Saf's not like this; but most of them delude themselves with pure hatred. They don't see reality.

I agree with most of this. I do however think they’ll be more careful in future after the kick back from the supporters after the BCB fiasco. Riggy was a youth player at Newcastle don’t forget before jumping ship to us.

As for the pure hatred. Surely you accept that’s a two way street, we are rivals after all. I see it from both boards on here and all the time when I’m home. That’s to be expected.

Football is a business though and if you’re paying over the odds we’d be mad not to accept it.

Good for you. I don’t see the point in not being optimistic when things are going well for your club, it builds the excitement. If you win the league you’ll be elated. Bumps on the other hand after constantly thinking you’ll always get beat and someone else will win the league, he’ll be relieved. What’s the point in that?
