If budgets were in mind surely they just leave Dodds in charge in December. Also, it's a myth he couldn't bring anyone in and i'm not sure why it's still being used as a stick to beat the club with. Beale HIMSELF spoke about possibly bringing someone else in on the coaching staff in time, just like we did last week, but Beale liked Dodds and tried to take him to either QPR or Rangers he didn't mention which. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...-decision-and-outline-mike-dodds-plan-4454727 And then the Still one, his compensation would've been more than Villa paid for Emery, that's simply not viable for any championship club ever, let alone one thats one year removed from League One.
Haway mate. We all know they didnt want Dodds, that coule have been done on day one. I am saying we had an upper budget in mind, not no budget. You are stretching what I am saying here. We undoubtedly had an upper budget at which we wouldnt go above, which is right and proper. If the stories about Still are right being sounded out our background checks on his compo, or our belief to negotiate were overreached. As for Beale wanting Dodds. Maybe, but I have my doubts. Way too convenient. I have been involved in coaching for 25 years, 15 in a pro environment. Coaches form bonds and trust. They come in teams. Rarely in my experience do coaches come as individuals. Maybe I wrong, so be it, but what a coincidence if Dodds was Beales choice as a no2 and I wonder why he isnt jointly carrying the can.
I'm not really sure Beale has his 'team' in place, had no connection I can find to Damian Matthew and Neil Banfield who he took to both QPR and Rangers. If we've denied him or others bringing their own staff it's a shambles but I just don't see why Beale would say that about Dodds if it was incorrect.
I know we hate him, moyes. But in my opinion shows how footballe fans are now in general, they won trophy in Europe last year and are 8th in prem this year and some of their fans want him out. I guess I mean no matter where you are, some pp will never be happy.
You are right, there are rumours that he will like to be elected as President of Club Nacional de Football. Up to now only rumours
Let me ask you this, do you honestly think the current owners are doing the job right, not in comparison to any other owner, but just on how they have done over 2 1/2: years
Yes. We are in a better spot then when they came along. That's success and it buys them time before we "need" the next step.
I'm going to say it. I can't work Bob out he says he has good connection with the club and is friends with all of them basically! Somehow gets mayes with anyone involved at a high level at the club despite slaggin them off to fans on a forum constantly. He also gets information despite sharing it with fans in a forum. Surely they would be made aware and would stop sharing anything with him? Probably not allow him around then it the clubs anymore?
Yes. We were struggling to get out of League 1 and now we're expecting to be promoted from the Championship. They've increased our expectations massively. If anything, they're victims of their own success. If our first season back in the second tier hadn't gone so well, they wouldn't be under so much pressure now.
But, if that is the case, it hasn't been officially announced as you said it was. The only publicly available information relates to his rumoured run for Nacional president. Edit: in 2021, ESPN report that Sunderland were trying to buy CA Rentistas. There were also reports that the club had been involved in talks to buy Atletica Sud America and River Plate (not the Argentinian one) but, like 10 of the current Uruguayan Primera Division clubs, River Plate are fan owned. Maybe you're confusing this with the news about his rumoured presidential run at Club Nacional de Football? (Please set me right if I've got any of this wrong @Alex83 )
I've thought about this myself and also can't work him out. The club are in a better place than when they came in that's plain for all to see. @Bob the Mackem are you friends with the owners of the club or do you think they should sell up to new owners. I don't think anyone quite understands you're stance with the ownership of the club . You appear to be close to them yet slag them off to people on here. Do you say these things to them directly.
Yes. Mistakes have been made, improvement is needed in many areas but on the whole I really like KLD and the direction we are headed. He spends money contrary to popular belief and has a vision and is investing in it. Whether you agree with the strategy is up to you but at least we have a plan. And what do you mean 'not in comparison to any other owner'? That is literally how we should judge KLD. We should especially judge KLD compared to your mates who nearly sent the club to the grave. I've noticed one of them is currently killing another club. Pricks.
Also frustrating that he says he has direct links to owners, will say x,y,z is happening then when questioned says no that but is my opinion not from owners. Not sure if it's intentional but a lot of what he says is taken as coming from inside the club or having a greater knowledge that you average fan due to his links, so it is dangerous (maybe too strong a word?) for him to say something that is purely his own speculation without letting people know first?
I do, the thing is we were in such a **** state after dunb and dumber there had to be so many changes at ground level before anything else. We had no academy, no scouts, no foundations. This is never a quick fix. I can't get my head around when people keep claiming everything is done on the cheap. Not one person on here can tell us how much of his own money KLD has put in to the club but I bet its in the 10s of millions and that's just putting the foundations back together. I keep banging the same drum and it probably annoys some people, however the people that seem to have a problem with the club ownership are the ones that don't want to wait, when he took over if it takes 5 years to build us properly to get back to the PL and able to survive then I'll be over the moon. There will be fans that will not accept they way he's doing things but what's the alternative, look at the mags, they have the richest owners in the world and haven't been able to spend anything in the last 2 windows. Or Ipswich, thrown everything at getting promoted, if the don't they could be ****ed, I honestly believe given the choice some of our fans would actually choose that option, because they are like spoilt ****ing kids spitting their dummy out because KLD won't spend 10 million of his own money on a striker
