Thought I would start this thread to guage what people's opinions are regarding Anthony Patterson.

I've had my concerns for a while now and think his form and ability has gone backwards in the last few months. Yes, he is still young in keeper terms, but he has been poor for the majority of this season.

He doesn't look confident at all and is far too quiet and timid for a keeper who is our first choice.

Is it time to take him out of the firing line for a few games and put Bishop in?

Said a few windows back we needed to sign a keeper to push him. I've heard Bishop isn't too good so if that's true then Patto no matter how bad he is will always start.

Been really poor recently. Always had doubts about him though. Doesn't command his area and his distribution is well below par.

I'm not sure Bishop is any good though. Recruiting for a backup goalkeeper is hard because they have to be ok with being a number 2 but surely we have to be carrying a backup keeper that can put some pressure on Patterson.

If Bishop isn't great, how's Bass getting on?

Yeah he's not progressing like he was before seems to have hit a wall and if anything is getting worse. Areas of weakness like commanding his box and distribution are no better and he seems to have added in the ability to parry every shot back to a striker.

Nothing disastrous at this point but he needs to start showing improvement.

Keepers go on forever and he's at a high level already so it's safe to say he will do very well for himself but recently it seems like his head has fell off. Well below his own standards in most aspects of keeping.

Having watched Bishop play, I can safest say he isn't then answer.

From where I sat patto played the ball out and they reacted quicker. Yes he's at fault but so are our defenders

He's not going to turn down being first choice GK at a London club to be backup here come on.

Wonder if Younger has headed out on loan to get him experience for playing here next season. Patto has definitely dropped off in recent weeks.

This negativity confuses me abit. If our defence wasnt so shyte he wouldn't have to be in the limelight as much. I dont see how hes any weaker than most other Keepers in this league unlike our defence who relies on Ballard to pull us out the shyte time and time again.

Not being negative towards him but he needs decent competition to improve himself. Keep him on his toes if we have another keeper pushing to start.

Very very young for a keeper. Lot to like about him though. I would like to see him challenged a bit more. Like a few of our players, our squad quality means they have to play.

Like I get the policy is to sign youth etc and it's exciting but you need an experienced head to explain mistakes etc.

Very good reactionary shot stopper. Poor command of box. Poor distribution. Parries shots into the six yard box instead of to the sides too often. Not good enough to be first choice at our level or beyond yet.

Ballard was missing today so we brought Seelt in to replace him. A young lad that only ever played for PSV B team before us and in the handful of appearances hes made for us hes played RB despite being 6 foot 4 which is something thats always confused me.

His partner is Onien who by trade is a CM and stands and about 5 foot 10 tall. We also have a LB playing today from Leeds reserves who again is an inexperienced kid.

It doesnt really take a genius why we leak so many goals does it.

Infront of them we have Neil playing his 3rd season as a first teamer and Ekwah playing his first full season coming from West ham U23s.

Pretty obvious really and anyone that keeps trying to tell me our model works and we have a plan can feck off

No harm in dropping Bishop in for a game or two if the consensus is Patto is in a bit of a rut.
