Definitely hot and cold. Great shot stopper but he seems to have major lapses of concentration and looks a bit flat.

On that performance sign most of the Blackburn team. It seemed like I was watching us last season, they were entertaining

I don’t think many can argue that. Funnily you have the “scapegoat pickers” who love Patto, and blame everyone but him for his failings. Think he’s cost us 3 games recently with poor keeping and distribution!

I like the lad, but he is in poor form. Think, as mentioned above, some decent competition would be good for him

Hard to disagree with that mate. His distribution has always been a bit suspect but at times this season its been absolutely comical (not for lads fans obviously). A few times he has been saved by poor finishing, good defending etc but his distribution has played us into so many times.

Used to be confident if his shot stopping but everything wale.was always a bit dodgy but seems even where he is pushing the ball has been poor lately.

I like the lad and think he has done amazing to go from the level he was playing at to be where he is now, but no competition can lead to complacency.

All change since the Beal dust up.he has lost his confidence, and most of his kicking ability, somehow.

always thought Patto isn't vocal enough to be a top keeper. He needs to boss his area...he just doesn't do that.

Interesting “conversation” last night. My mate, who sees no wrong in Patto, thinks he’s going to Man Utd next season as they need a new keeper. Thinks he’s as good as Pickford. All of the poor saves (back into danger area) appear to be O’Nien to blame!!

Unless it's when Patto rolls the ball to him when he has 3 opposition midfield around him

As always I dont think Patterson is as bad as some making out, nor as good as some are making out.

He’s a good championship level keeper. I don’t think he’s a premier league keeper but he’s young so who knows. The main thing that will hold him back is his distribution. Not just his execution of it but his thinking, which is worrying.

Any bid over £10m we’d be nuts to turn down in my opinion. I feel like he could be replaced fairly cheaply.

Likewise if no bids are forthcoming I’m not in any rush to sell and replace

Our keeper is the least of our worries, I’ve said it plenty of times on here that he will end up in the England Squad, keepers don’t fully hit their peak until around 30, he is well ahead of where he should be, at the age of 23 !
As “supporters” we should be giving him the much needed encouragement as he’s clearly took a dip in form. He will feel 7 foot tall and invincible if 43,000 people showed him he’s loved at the next home game.

Absolutely agree with every word. He’s a decent keeper, in a poor run of form which can happen to anyone.

Re his “thinking”, prime example is the goal against the mags where he could see the player behind Ekwah closing down. Yes Ekwah shouldn’t have tried the skill, but Patterson equally should’ve realised that danger. Not the only time it’s happened either.
