Fair point although I do think with his ego he probably doesn't feel he needs to prove anything and I'm pretty sure there'll be plenty of interest from big clubs even if he doesn't play again until May...and he knows it.

oh an i think aquilani is not just robbery, its bad but highlights the madenss of the purchase. Luckily mr henry got us for a song so all those issues with G&H mean they lost the moeny not us. Aquilani moeny will go in the pot for the next buys.

Again, I think this works a bit in our favour (this is assuming we're even interested.) His ego will actually be the reason he does feel the need to prove a point. He'll want people, Mancini in particular, to know how good he is.
As I say, all this is based on a loan spell, as we've seen how those with big egos (Sturridge) can benefit. It's when you actually have them permanently that there are issues.
I think Tevez would be right up for it between Jan and May.

Samba - no, not going to happen, since it didn't happen in the summer. Samba only signed a contract extension in Feb 2011. We have Coates to bring through along with Kelly and Danny Wilson. Carra will provide support to them. Just not necessary.
Strootman - another central midfielder. Just moved to PSV in the summer, so not going to move in the Jan window.
Dyer - a right winger. Scored 2 goals and 7 assists in the Championship last season. Not good enough to make the move.
Montolivio - a possible. Contract is running down and will be free in the summer. Will be looking to negotiate a Bosman rather than a move in Jan I suspect.
Abidal is leaving Barca in the summer. However, he's 32 and just had a tumour removed from his liver. Not going to be back to top form anytime soon, if ever.
Rodallega - way too inconsistant and unpredictable. Even his own feet have trouble predicting where he's going. He one good half-season two years ago and nothing significant since.
Aquilani - he's going, having proved only one thing - he hasn't got the stomach for a fight. No Intestinal fortitude...
Would sure make life interesting for a few months eh
Personally I don't think he fits in with the FSG/Kenny ethos of long term strategic purchases but as much as the guy is a dildo he'd improve pretty much any team in world football (on the pitch at least).

Nathan Eccleston has returned to Liverpool following the end of his month-long loan spell at Rochdale.
The 20-year-old striker, who has made nine first team appearances for the Reds, scored on his debut for Rochdale against Exeter in October but failed to find the net in his next six games. His final appearance for the League One club came as a second-half substitute at Preston on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will hand a trial to 15-year-old Swedish midfielder Gustav Engvall.
The Farjestaden youngster, who has represented his country at under-15 level, is expected to travel to the Academy at the start of December.

Seydou Keita isn't going to Liverpool. He's 31 and in January he'll be at the African Cup of Nations with Mali. In August, he signed a contract extension to 2014. No chance he'll move in January unless the loony Russians offer to pay him the same as Eto'o - we're not going to pay a 31 year old with no resale value stupid money...
