It was 20 tops v Millwall, not 30.
It's not about the last month. Rosenior has been in charge since 3rd November 2022.
I don't expect 13 sets of Southampton first half. I'm not stupid. I do however expect to be able to at least recognise us as a brave, high energy, pressing, positive (etc) side most games if that's how the coach repeatedly says he's asking them to play. Instead we've repeatedly seen us prat around at the back (80% of passes in our own half) with very little of the traits Rosenior repeatedly mentions.
As said, hopefully Southampton proves to be something of a turning point.

Turning Point??

As you say Rosenoir has been here since November 2022. Look what he has achieved in that small amount of time! This is a process. He is a fantastic manager and you should count your blessings he's our manager.

This is what I wrote on this thread back in October and it's playing out as I expected.

Rosenoir is a young, inexperienced manager who will make mistakes, but hopefully learn from them. He has a young squad with a lot of new players who all seem to be on board with the methods and style of play. They’ve all made errors, and bad decisions too during games, but as they become more accustomed to the style and to each other these mistakes will reduce and we will start to turn defeats into draws and draws into wins.

We could quite easily have gained an extra 5 or 6 points so far which would have us in the top 3, although I realise it’s all about making the best of opportunities and converting your chances and we have to improve on that front and I’m sure we will. Rosenoir and his team will only get better, make better choices, and start to play the ball quicker and improve the tempo of games. This all comes with time, and patience is a virtue!

After 40 years of watching City I don’t recall such a young and exciting team. I’ve really enjoyed the season so far and it’s great to see them play with great confidence (even when some of the fans are groaning in the stands!)

*whispers* I detect we could quite possibly be on the cusp of something special – there I’ve said it!

There has not been any turning points!!!

I did not say we are keeping did i, i said i think we may and i actually think we will try to keep Delap and maybe Zaroury i also think the club may try for Morton but obviously that will be difficult.

I know you said we may, I'm asking which players you meant. I don't think we have much chance of keeping Morton. Zaroury will be an interesting one but also sceptical on that.

I think if Alonso does go back to manage Liverpool he may not as Bayern interested in him but if he did we would have a good chance of Morton if not a perm then another season loan, i think Zaroury might want to stay himself if we did go up and maybe even if Burnley do come down and we are still in this league he seems to really like it at the club.

What does Alonso going there have to do with Morton? I think regardless of who manages Liverpool, Morton will be attracting PL interest, and Delap may well too. I love that you're always so optimistic and positive and you were right for instance that we would/could beat Southampton, but I think you're being overly optimistic if you think we will retain multiple of our loanees.

If we go up it's an entirely different discussion and we would absolutely be front of queue to get Morton and Delap back. The discussion is purely on if we don't go up.

I think it would give us belief and hunger, but I also think it depends on what the squad looks like. Acun has given us no reason to doubt him over the last two transfer windows, but there'll be some big shoes to fill in that squad for next season. I would hope players look at us as a bit more legitimate next summer, and if we don't go up, I'd back us to be right in the conversation for the automatics.
Yeah I think he’ll back us again but I mean mentally, would be heartbreaking getting that close

Turning point is perhaps the wrong phrase, but things certainly seem to be starting to click now.

I don't think i am being optimistic i honestly believe we could have a chance to keep some of them even if we do not go up.

Fair enough your opinion. The discussion was about how we'd look for next season if we didn't go up, so it wasn't meant to be about whether we could keep some if we go up - which I think is absolutely a different discussion and there's every chance we could even get Carvalho back. I was having lunch with a Liverpool supporter today who thinks he would definitely be on the market for 15-20m which if we were promoted we'd be able to look at.

Would be great if Carvalho was available and we could get him i never included him as i thought maybe that would be hoping for to much.

Well, if a Liverpool supporter in Australia says it’s happening… it’s £***in happening!

He's actually a Pom, only been out here a couple of years. Still regularly goes home.

Also didn't say he said we'd get him, just that he thinks he'd be available for around 20m.

What position does he hold on Liverpool fc board of directors?
As much as I’d like to see some of these loans turned into permanent signings, this is just twaddle.
Just my opinion, it’s a board for discussion, but I feel a little more gravity is required before starting these rumours.

With all due respect I have no idea what you're on about. In a discussion with someone talking about which of our loanees we could realistically get back next season, I suggested if we were in the PL Carvalho might be affordable. If that doesn't hold enough 'gravity' for you then you're free to disregard the post. I don't see a Liverpool supporter saying Carvalho could be available for 20m any different to a City supporter offering what they think is a fair value for one of our players. If I met a Rotherham fan and said I thought they could get Ingram for about 500k I don't think they'd demand to see proof of my ownership of the club in order to chat about the prospect of it happening.

For what it's worth Liverpool spent about 6m to get Carvalho, if they could treble their investment on him I think they'd be quite happy. Especially considering his output to date for them. If you consider that twaddle, my apologies.

It was not a discussion who we was signing it was just a conversation on who we both felt we had a possible chance to retain again if we was promoted or remained in the Championship was no rumours on buying players just opinions.

I've been thinking about what's been said recently on this thread, the loan signings are doing a really good job for us, but do you think Acun will be happy with them if we got promoted or do you think he'd be looking at a lot bigger fish to come to us?
