I can relate to that mate. Similar discipline to martial arts. All well and good hitting punch bags & focus pads, or kicking thin air to improve your technique, but you really need to know what it feels like to both make and take impact.

Even if the ultimate aim is to avoid conflict, if you do get stuck with no choice then you need to know what it's like to be hit and to defend/block, as well as how to attack.

Sometimes you get hurt in training and in competitions. All part of the learning.

Like Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face ....

Competition wise, you sometimes need a "leveller" - collar bone/shoulder works well, or knee cap

What if the other fencer has a gun?

Do any of you pussys even train or are you all just that guy talking about a fight you had at school in people's kitchens at 4am.

It's just I've had a great idea... are any of you guys interested in a not606 sponsored fight event?

I'd love to mouth off about unrealistic expectations while I pulverise you for a few rounds.
