To be fair I think most of them are just unqualified lackeys who are given a free match ticket in return for putting divots back at half time. A lot of groundsmen will arrange these people themselves so the chances are they will be talking about and pointing out a decent pair of norks in the North Stand and not really doing what they are meant to be doing. Some clubs use the academy players to do it.
Bit unfair. That description certainly applied to the last lot. They were taking the free tickets and not putting the divots back, that was one of the reasons they were dismissed.
Perhaps someone should contact John Cooper and ask for a bit of advice?

One of the lads I see do it
Does YPI or whatever it’s called now
He’s a good lad loves city
Dunno how high up or not he is
Don’t think it’s the staff that’s the issue

I was only basing it on the fact it is common around a lot of grounds from non-league upwards to get some volunteers for half time to put divots back. Not suggesting the current lot are just taking freebies and not doing their job. I pay no attention to them, half time is all about the milf spotting for me.

When there are plastic bags blowing around the pitch, the geezers who come on at h/t to prod the pitch can never be arsed to pick them up. Does my head in. Though I did observe a steward picking up a plastic bag near the south/west corner on Satdee and putting it in a bin. Top fella.

On the subject of halftime, how crap is that trapping the ball competition? Bring back shooting the ball through the banner.

Meant to mention this on match day thread, what a bloody stupid “game” does my head in. It’s pathetic, nobody takes a scrap of notice anyway. I had more fun on Sat watching the ball boys trying to catch/move the pigeon/seagull thing off the pitch…. But not so much fun when it was then bombing around South St looking for someone to offload on! They’d be better bringing back cross bar challenge.

Too right Tigress the crossbar challenge was easy to arrange and pretty straightforward. All that messing around with the target then Roary fires the ball too fast or too slow, it’s just crap. Also that lucky seat draw only happens when they remember to do it. We do a lot of good things but halftime is shockingly ****.

I think David Attenborough’s job is safe for now…
