I don't think promotion is expected...we are not in a position now to guarantee that (top spots are gone imo). But I reckon there will be an expectation that we make the playoffs or come very very close.
Anything less that a playoff spot will be a disappointment. And given our record, a Championship playoff should be a walk in the park.
A Burnley friend of mine just messaged me to say we have an outstanding player in Zaroury going forward, his only fault is not tracking back at times, sounds a bit like Turbo.
With Giles on the left also, sounds like it will really important for slater to drop back into that space if they are both going to bomb on all the time and leave gaps.
POETS day, piss off early tomorrow's Saturday. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Just listened to the club's interview with Abdülkadir Ömür, and his English is not bad, which is a plus.
Very good window. Better than expected or led to believe earlier. We now have some very good attacking talent without a doubt. However, feeling a few are getting ahead of themselves a little? Imo, although we have CF options with Connolly, Sharp, Ohio and false 9's, I feel we are still missing something at CF. Pity we didn't pull off the Kienan Davies signing earlier (or someone simiilar). It's asking a lot of a 38 yo and a very raw 21 y.o. who is new to senior football over here (yes, I remember well, but that was destiny and lightning is unlikely to strike twice), and we can't really rely on Connolly to stay fit. I still think we're also somehow missing a player or players who would be more dominant at CB or CDM. Jones, Greaves and Coyle have been decent but I don't really see them as players of a level to get us promoted, at least not with all 3 of them as starters; hopefully I'm proven wrong. But I agree, we are in with a shout this season, and also it's clear that preparation is being done for another go next season. If only we could keep all the loans and Philogene, then add 2 or 3 in summer as the final pieces of the jigsaw, then we'd have one hell of a side next season.
On paper, our January transfers should see us comfortably finish top 6. I'm going to temper expectations until I see how we play against Millwall and Swansea.
Not up yet, but I guess will come out in the course of today. They seem to ration one a day to the release.
I can't see acun etc being happy with anything less after the commitment and backing they have shown. We have on paper an absolutely outstanding squad
