To be fair, back in September LR insisted he was happy with our forward options when practically everyone on this board felt we were light up front. It was his job to make sure injuries didn't derail our ambition.

Furlong was Man of the Match, Stan Ashbee is a 17 year old making his debut and Smith and Macca are just back-ups, what did you expect?

No, he's saying it's a pattern and we can't use bad luck as an excuse anymore.

But don't let that stop you misinterpreting it.

I would want us to be patient too. Boro however play a much faster game then us, possession based but one of the fastest sides in transition still. They also have much better wide players on the whole

Last season’s squad should never have been a relegation candidate though. Forest and Boro in recent years were down there and got play offs, does that mean the squad was a relegation level side? He’s done a good job but at this level you can’t be hanging around waiting for someone to learn.

I listened to the game on BBC WM and they thought we were good value for the lead at half time. I actually think Rosenior and the team did really well. We put out a cobbled together team and was leading for 60 odd minutes. Brum then fielded their first team and we struggled a bit. We then brought on some of our first teamers to try and win it BUT we was level at the time so tried to play it smart incase it went to extra time as we have a massive game on Friday. If we had longer before the next game, those subs would have come on just after theirs and we would have gone stronger for the win.

Still might have lost in the last minute but if we hadn't and it went to extra time we would have managed our first team with quite a balanced approach. At the moment with our squad if you offered us a last minute defeat but squad fitness managed effectively I think we would have taken it.

Bonuses for the youngsters all have a fairly solid games. If Lokilo or Allayah end up hanging around for the rest of the season the game time and confidence will help too.

Disappointed to lose but all in all a fairly beneficial night under the circumstances.

OK a few brought on as an afterthought. My point was the tone of his interview wasn't what I would expect for a game he clearly wasn't prioritising, and that he may be feeling the pressure, which hopefully he uses to his advantage rather than collapsing under it

Despite some on here thinking I have an 'ulterior motive' and hatred of him, I've always maintained that Rosenior's shortcomings/flaws/whatever are down to naivety and inexperience and not incompetence. I do think he has the potential to be a great coach. I do think he's feeling a bit of pressure recently after we've had a poor run of form and his attitude has become a bit more ruthless and authoritative. Not saying he's throwing the players under the bus but he's not being as coddling and protective of them in interviews and I think that's a good thing. He can't keep saying 'we were the better team but just unlucky' after every defeat because some of them do need a kick up the arse. These last couple of months have probably been the most challenging of his managerial career so far and it's a learning curve. Certain players have not been performing at the standard we expect and some players just aren't good enough for this level even if they put a shift in.

Im asking because I don’t understand your viewpoint.

Rosenior will live and die by his league position. We play an important game on Friday, with an opposition with no midweek game and a squad with loads of injuries.

But you accuse him of not taking last night seriously? What would you rather him do?

My main issue is, we’ve had a lack of wide players all season and we haven’t adapted all but one game. Especially recently where we’ve been figured out in an attacking sense, Blackburn was one of our best attacking performances of the season, we should’ve had 4/5 due to the number of good chances we created. We played players in their best roles and it worked. Too often we play players out of position and we are quickly figured out.

What he says to to the media likely will have little similarity to what goes on/is said in-house. It'd be unprofessional otherwise.

I think there always has been an undercurrent of dislike for Rosenior (on his forum), but I also think a lot of that is in the way how people interact with football these days. 'Everyone's' an expert/ tactician - knows best. Everyone's always on the cusp of being angry, frothing etc. (mirrors our society) as people move from short term hit to short term hit.

Not necessarily including you in that middle paragraph, but I think that reflects many contributors to this forum.

This was a problem last season too, not enough wingers to play how LR wants us to play. It should have been sorted already, or as you said, adapt tactics.
