Blimey, an 8 minute interview after a 6 month loan… they really liked him. Further shows what a talent the guy is though. If this (potential) Plymouth move is a success, I hope there’s a good chance he becomes a member of the first team squad for next season. He’d suit Ange-Ball a lot better than a couple of players we already have.

What does that have to do with Reguilon going to Brentford after a disappointing loan move at Man Utd?

I only managed to watch 2 of his games on my IPTV. In one of them he was deployed as a number 6, no word of a lie he played like Pirlo. Some of his passing from deep was a joke and considering he’s better as a number 8/10, it just shows the sort of versatility he has and the potentially ability to play a number of the roles in Ange-Ball. He’s a player than can go right to the top in my opinion. We have a lot of reasons to be very hopeful and excited about him.

Kid definitely has potential, I’d rather see him play in Spurs midfield than Lo Celso right now. At least Devine wouldn’t pick up injuries every other game. I’d also rather see Devine given a chance over spending big money on Conor Gallagher.
Hopefully does well at Plymouth for rest of the season and then Ange decides to keep him in the first team squad in the summer.

Like I said, Brentford is the level of Reguilon. Not Spurs, Man Utd or Dortmund despite your view

That has been the biggest issue with our scattergun transfer policy of the last 5-6 years, we've bloated the number of Overseas players in our squad yet neglected addressing the poor HG balance, meaning that we are playing Jenga with the squad as signing Belgian Midfielder A leaves us having to find a buyer or loan club for one of Portuguese Defender X or Swiss Centre Back Y, and that's been an issue since at least the season where Vincent Janssen was omitted from our squad for half a season and that creates a situation where you have to effectively draw up a list of players who are less unwanted and more are easier to justify letting go
We've seen that a couple of times already this window with Lloris, as he clearly was not one of the worst players in the squad by any stretch of the imagination but he was the easiest to sacrifice given Vicario is No1 and Forster is a more than adequate deputy, which is similar to where Reguilon, Hojbjerg and it appears Gil all sit. And the reason they fit into that category? Because the players who would be top of the list to shift can't be moved on due to either longterm injury (Perisic) or it being impossible to get them off the wage bill without using dynamite (Ndombele) - and there's reasons we need those Overseas spots PDQ, as next season we need to use two of those spots which we aren't using this season for Udogie and Dragusin yet as things currently stand the squad only has one available Overseas place after Dier went to Bayern, so we have to sacrifice one of Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Gil or Perisic just to be able to register our current squad next season, and that's before talk of incomings
If Ange rated him then he would haven’t palmed him off to Utd in the summer and then to Brentford now. The other managers also wouldn’t have loaned him out either. And he would have shone at the clubs he’s been on loan to. If I had to make a prediction, I bet Brentford send him back in the summer and don’t sign him permanently.
He’s just not very good, I’m not quite sure why you’re making out like the club are getting rid because of any other reason.
If we only have one available Overseas spot on January 17th 2024, how many Overseas spots would we have had on 1st September after signing Vicario, Mickey Van, and Solomon but only selling Sanchez?
That's why we loaned Reguilon, because we needed the Overseas places and were well-stocked at LB with Udogie, Davies and (in theory) Sessegnon which made him more expendable than, say, Emerson or Gil
That is not comparable with Ndombele who is a leech on our wage bill who would possibly keel over from heart failure after playing an hour of Angeball, nor is it comparable with Spence who is (presumably) the player who pissed off Ange by mouthing off to one of the coaches on the pre-season tour
That’s not the reason why Ange doesn’t want him. Also doesn’t explain why Utd didn’t want him or Dortmund didn’t want him.
He’s just not that good, why are you not getting it?
I already explained why Man Utd used their break clause: because Luke Shaw was back from injury so they didn't need a first-choice LB while Dalot is trusted to be their backup LB. What you fail to explain is the minor detail that Man Utd wanted Reguillon in the first place if his "level" is a side we were supposed to be emulating until they become a convenient stick to beat a player over the head with

They wanted him, then saw him up close over a longer period, then got rid as soon as possible.
Nobody wanted him and he’s now off to Brentford. I’m not slagging him out but that’s his level.
