We recently talked about high car insurance and the greed of insurance companies. Here's a (new) good one.
I always renew my sisters house insurance (she won't do computers or buy online ). So renewal comes in, want a big increase. Onto moneysupermarket, find a new company and go to buy. Get to payment and it wants to do the visa verisure extra check, which sister's card hasn't got. It says ring number if having difficulty, so ring up and say can you take payment details over phone. Yes I can he says. There's a fee of £12.50 to do so.
Excuse me, you have a product for sale at £x and I would like to give you £x to complete the transaction and buy the product -- and you say I have to pay you to take my money ? Yes, it's usual, all the big insurance companies are now doing this for phone payment he says.
p.s. if you want to read this post, there is a £10 fee, I'll accept cash
Having the same trouble mate, mines just arrived gone from £175 to £385. Looked on all the sites and they are £400 + apart from the AA £258, watching tv and the LV advert comes on, our customers are paying only £179 for H and C ( around 10% ) gives it a go, lowest price from them £711 <laugh><laugh>, there’s 2 of us, never made a claim<doh>

I think we can all understand a reasonable rise because of rising costs, but it's getting to mugging levels now and to ask for a fee for having the audacity to ask them to accept our money is unbelievable. I've emailed Martin Lewis the money guy (although it says they can't reply to everyone).
Sorted sister's verisure, hoping this company will ask for the customer service survey, if so I'll submit it with an invoice

"I'm attached so we can be recycled together" it says. Well, it gets right up my nose or pokes me in the eye, and Coca Cola must know that they've made them stupidly uncomfortable to drink from . . . . stupid bastards :steam:

Scissors are needed to get rid of the stupidly unnecessary bits of plastic to make them drinkable !

Well I wondered what the fook was garn on with the tops. Thought there were a lot of faulty fookers.

Nightmare cos I use them for home brew beers <laugh>

And you don't need scissors man, just twist the top off . Typical office worker <laugh><doh>

Mines due end of next month and I've sold me 2nd car.
Was £154 last year and £170 for 2nd.
Lad in work said his BMW went from £500 to £2000 and couldn't get it cheaper.
Put it off the road and a few weeks later got it fer £400 <confused> ???

There's a couple other lads said they were quoted astronomical prices then eventually got a decent price .

Twisting leaves a straggler and a similar problem . . . . scissors are the only way, man :emoticon-0172-mooni

Unless you're better at twisting than me, like most people on here seem to be <whistle>

My latest one, AA, quote arrives only £258, I thought brilliant I’ll go with this, filled out last details, still £258, and then another question popped up, just to finish your quote what is the value of your house, puts that in. Your final quote is £711 <yikes>:headbang: same as LV,
My theory is, insurance companies can double their prices but if less than 49% of customers leave ( to scared not to have insurance) they will still make more profit also will need half the staff, half the paper work and be no worse off.

Wtf has yer house value got to do with car insurance and what if ya don't know how much it's worth? <laugh>

I always get quotes as some take the pìss for renewal but esure have been cheapest last few years running.

Worked with a lad from Liverpool and he insured his car from his nans house across the water in Wallasey.
Said it was half price. <laugh>
