Let’s be honest lads, Twines been crap. A soood 6/10. Move on and get Benson in and another striker sharpish.
Makes the trip to Sunderland even more exciting with the almost guarantee Jason Lokilo will be starting…
Think its the one club we could have lost him to. He's from Wiltshire and Manning was his boss at MK Dons.
Disappointed with how this has worked out for the bloke to be honest. City apparently chased Twine for a good while but sometimes players just don’t hit the heights many perhaps perceived. If he has played his last game good luck to the guy..
Was Delap brought in as a winger or forward, as it'd appear he's the one we're looking at replacing? Possibly Twine now as well, but the same question, what position was he brought in to play? It looks more like we play 3 attacking midfielders (inter changing) supporting a forward, therefore, wouldn't we now be looking at 2 attacking midfielders or are we looking at changing the whole formation to fit in wingers?
Dunno what clause they’ve used, the FA put an end to loan recalls at the same time they stopped the emergency/short term loan system.
Benson unlikely and Zaroury dependant on Burnley getting players in. Could end up with no Twine, Benson, Zaroury or Kent after all that…
What was the point of bringing him in on loan if we never had the intention of signing him? I get some players are a level above so a loan is the only option but Twine isn’t a Delap or Morton, surely the intention was to sign permanently? Longterm planning has gone out the window, yes we have Carvalho to play in the 10 and wing role this season but what about next?
They aren’t the only wingers out there. Kent we’ve dodged a bullet I’m certain. Burnley will sign players… Mike White is hardly the top tier transfer source is he
I would guess A. We couldn’t afford-to/not enough FFP headroom initially and B. Probably point A still applies and he’s just not been good enough to justify the outlay either. Edit: Also, I can imagine the club was picturing 2 scenarios where either Burnley survive this season, and are happy to let him leave for a bit less, or we get promoted and have the resources to pay the asking price anyway.
Given the amount of noise Acun made when we brought him in, you'd have to assume there was initially a desire to make it perm. Perhaps now we've seen him play for half a season we've changed our mind on that, otherwise we'd have surely matched Bristol's offer and let the lad choose where he wanted to play. The biggest loss is how threadbare it leaves us for the next couple of games, in terms of what positions should be a priority this window, I don't think it changes, and therefore I don't think Twine himself will be missed.
Only a tv fan these days but City’s problems up front seem to be players not taking responsibility in th final third and opting to cross rather than try and beat the last man. Not sure if it’s a confidence or ability thing but Can see now why Rosenior went for a player like Carvalho..his game is all about keeping things going into that final third and involving others in the process.
