Daws has just done the pre-Brum press conference and says he has no update on Twine, so presumably he's not gone anywhere yet.

Long term probably not but we are in a pickle right now and just need options, more so if Twine goes. He’s better than Lokilo and a damn sight better than playing the likes of Tufan, Slater and Doc out on the wing.

He would improve us as a squad from where we are currently.

Longman is absolute tripe at this level I can’t believe the nonsense I’m reading, glad none of that talk is anywhere near the top of the club.

Longman is a bit like Slater, in that he could have been a useful utility player for us. He's not going to set the world alight, but during periods like we're going through, he could fill in a do a job in several positions (RB, out wide, even up front). I'd even rather see him starting that a couple of players who keep getting shoe horned in out of position.
I'd rather we had him back than sign someone to do a job he could do, then instead use the money to start correcting obvious gaps elsewhere that we've had for too long (not just meaning positions but also type of players).
It's great that we're a club with ambition once again and are progressing overall, but my critical comments, whether it's about the pitch, recruitment, performances, Rosenior, whatever, are simply bourn out of frustration that we could be doing better given what the owner has brought and is bringing to the club.

No one is seriously suggesting that he is the answer to our lack of a right winger problem - but he is still preferable to Lokilo. Whichever bright spark in our scouting network thought signing Lokilo was a good idea needs the old tin tack

I don't really understand how the two comments go together though. If you're saying recruitment has been poor how can you at the same time Rosenior should be doing better with what Acun has brought in?

Yeh I agree about the shoe horning, feels a little short sighted to me. I worry that this sniff of the playoffs is affecting the development of some of our younger players along with putting pressure on the transfer window. I would much prefer a more measured approach to longer term success. Carvalho is an exciting signing but how much of the budget has that used up if we don't get promoted (which I don't expect us to)?

I hope the positive of Carvalho coming in and putting us on the map so to speak and helping summer recruitment makes the outlay on him worth it. I never understood why some said we should go all in for this season. Signings like Pandur for the longer term make more sense.

Thats a shame. I think Im probably in the minority but I liked him and if the fee is around 2.5m I think Bristol City have done very well securing a really good player for years to come.

Quickly off the top of my head (as I'm rushed) .. .
We've brought loads of players in but have gaps all over (positions and types of players).
There's little doubt that Rosenior has been and is heavily involved in singings.
Unlike a clever, seasoned manager, Rosenior insists on his process rather than playing to the strengths of what & who he has available, whilst building towards his preferred style. The earlier scatter gun approach left him with some talents to get the best out of, and then to cleverly add to during 2 (now 3) windows.
Like Acun and Tan, Rosenior is clearly very much learning on the job.
We're going forward overall as a club, but we could be further on imo. I hope the pot and the patience doesn't dry up.

The fee Burnley are currently demanding is £5m.

Twine has more than had his chance here and not really taken it. I think getting dropped twice in a row and then hooked on 60 twice in a row speaks a lot. It will be Twines decision to leave and I expect part of that will be the manager telling him he hasn’t done enough to keep his place here and the arrival of Carvalho also points quite strongly to that.

I don’t think we saw anything like his best from him but it’s not been happening for him here for whatever reason and nothing to say anything was likely to change.

The timing is bad for us with injuries but otherwise it’s not too big a deal IMO.

According to who? Seems to be different reports going around. Baz says no chance it's 5m.

No bother at all with Twine leaving, not a bad player but we have enough players in his position. Wingers please.

According to Bristol's local rag, but this morning they're reporting that a compromise deal has been reached and he'll sign on loan for the rest of this season, but with a fixed permanent deal agreed for the summer.

Noticed Twine getting quite stroppy over the past couple of games. Don't know if that's frustration with himself, with the role he's being asked to play, with the performances or something else, but he's been quite visibly puffing his cheeks and waving his hands around.

I don’t think that can happen, I think the only way he can be recalled is for a permanent transfer.
