... if the various 'supporters groups' etc, actually took a few minutes to post their communications with the club, etc, on here. (If they do I've missed it and therefore apologise.) They're all very keen to claim they're 'the voice of Sunderland supporters' so it would be nice if Sunderland supporters, on here, actually had a say. For anyone interested in what questions RAWA will be asking 'on our behalf' here's the thread, Guinness and Ghandi are both good lads imo btw.

Supporters collective meeting with KLD - 18th January

We've just had confirmation that the next supporters collective meeting with SAFC will be held on the 18th of January and KLD will be in attendance. Naturally we're aware of a lot of the issues which need to be discussed, but please add any comments/ thoughts/ issues here and we'll make sure they are discussed where possible.

Wouldn't it be good if they just trusted the club a little more

I think the danger is it might boost their already inflated sense of self importance. The club go through the motions with supporters groups and while I'm not saying they completely ignore them they hardly use them to formulate strategy. The average punter has just as much chance of influencing the direction of the club by contacting the club directly.

The thing with this stuff is differentiating between the fans group and normal fanzine stuff that anyone can write for.

WMS
WHAT THE FALK
and others like mad mistake, jam sarney, Michael bowers etc are just bloggers and opinions and thats up to them what they say.

There is a point in the efl guidance that says club ownership should meet with fans representation 3 times a year (I think)
At present, Red and White Army are that fans rep as far as I can see.

That's really my point mate.

If they're claiming to be the voice of Sunderland supporters surely they should be on this forum.

Some of the questions demaded on RTG are absolutely idiotic tbh.

Does anyone asking any questions propose solutions to these "fiascos" or is that purely down to the owners?

There have been mistakes but overall where we are now to where we were just a few seasons ago I am quite happy to run with our current owner and see where we end up.

So if RAWA are the "voice" of SAFC supporters do we as individuals have to join there to ask for a question to be put forward and if so who decides which questions are asked?

Unfortunately if you read the previous minutes of the meetings, the supporters collective are all individual groups with individual issues. The BLC and SLG are happy to be there for the coffee and biscuits and keep the branch tickets coming, RAWA have many diverse questions but they focus on what's happened recently, guaranteed this next meeting will be 95% about the BCB and mag tickets.

This then leaves little time to discuss and ask about things that can be discussed properly, say the away fans location, what's happening with non digital season cards next season, how's the infrastructure improvements going and are there any big plans to look forward to

Others may represent my voice but WMS firmly do not. Attention seeking drama queens. I worry that the vocal hateful noise makers on RTG are seen as the view of the fans. I think there’s another perspective that is scared of being heard for the **** they get. One of the things I’m curious to understand is how the angry negative abuse from so called fans really affects those in the club. I do have genuine concerns. Operational and commercial weakness surely can’t be maximising income and I think there’s a failure to ‘invest’ at times , go for it if you like at first team level, but the criticisms are balanced with positivity. Others really aren’t and they shouldn’t just hear that voice. You’d think moving 40 metres for one single game was worse than the onslaught of Gaza. It’s depressing.

Before moving home, rtg was my only real source for information on the club, what the fans thought etc.

It's only when you come home and start talking to people in pubs and at the match that you realise it's 95% over reaction and very very limited in reflecting most fans

What is to say they're not already on this forum?

If they are they should make that clear ...

... if they're claiming to represent Sunderland supporters they should be prepared to discuss their stance with as many as possible.

I'd be horrified if they actually asked some of the questions some want putting to KLD like,
'Why haven't you sacked the two people either side of you on the podium?'

Seriously, how can he give an answer to things like that ...

... it would make us look like idiots imo.

It's good that these meetings exist and that supporters feel they have a say, or at least can ask questions.

Personally I feel it's more of an 'exercise' than an agenda for change. For example, people are asking about the away fans location which is fair enough. But the club are well aware of the problems having been warned about sanctions, etc. They know it may have an effect on our future away allocations, etc.

So I'm sure the situation is continually appraised and, if there was a simple solution, it would've been implemented. Things had calmed down, and it wasn't been mentioned much, before the derby kicked it all off again.

Ironically it was a similar campaign, by supporters, that helped move the away fans out of the South Stand.

The away fans will need sorting at some point as the premier league insist on away fans pitch side unless you have 'dispensation' cough envelopes......

Where they go is open to people opinions but it won't be an easy decision, same as the potential rail seating we have looked at

I'll guarantee that, no matter where they're put, someone will complain.

I registered with RAWA when Donald was in charge. Before these meetings take place you get invited to a teams call to discuss things. I’ve never been on one though so am no more help, good day and you can thank me later with beer.

Back where they came from imo.
