It’s an interesting take, I hate the manager merry-go-round so makes you wonder how many ex-footballers out there could be brilliant managers if they were given a chance.

Although nothing to stop them applying lower down the pyramid! Yorke should maybe aim a bit lower initially.

If he thought it was baffling and crazy that we appointed Beale, imagine how confused he'd have been if we appointed himself who has bugger all experience of coaching.

Aye it's a shame for him he's not 6'2 and 190lb because he'd be a hell of a player but he could still benefit from a few pounds of muscle. He's got the mentality and quality to go a long way he just needs to hit the weights.

Would have loved to have seen Michut in a 3 man midfield as one of the attacking 8's with a proper dm behind him

…. Such large structures should not exist according to one of the guiding principles of astronomy, called the cosmological principle. This states that all matter is spread smoothly across the Universe.

Although stars, planets and galaxies are huge clumps of matter in our eyes, in the context of the size of the universe they are insignificant - and the theory is that much bigger patches of matter should not form.

The Big Ring is by no means the first likely violation of the cosmological principle and so suggests that there is another, yet to be discovered, factor at play.

According to Dr Robert Massey, deputy director of the Royal Astronomical Society, the evidence for a rethink of what has been a central plank of astronomy is growing.

"This is the seventh large structure discovered in the universe that contradicts the idea that the cosmos is smooth on the largest scales. If these structures are real, then it's definitely food for thought for cosmologists and the accepted thinking on how the universe has evolved over time," he said.

Is it just me or when you get a cold you're stuck with it for a month, possibly two, but when your Mrs gets one she has a sore throat in the morning, blows her nose once in the afternoon and is over it the next day. It's not that I want her to suffer but it doesn't seem fair somehow <laugh>

Got round to framing my Sunderland jigsaw today. I would have put a black mount around it, but the Mrs was adamant the frame had to be white (to match the room is going in), but there's no way I could have it black and white, so had to use a white mount.

We recently talked about high car insurance and the greed of insurance companies. Here's a (new) good one.
I always renew my sisters house insurance (she won't do computers or buy online ). So renewal comes in, want a big increase. Onto moneysupermarket, find a new company and go to buy. Get to payment and it wants to do the visa verisure extra check, which sister's card hasn't got. It says ring number if having difficulty, so ring up and say can you take payment details over phone. Yes I can he says. There's a fee of £12.50 to do so.
Excuse me, you have a product for sale at £x and I would like to give you £x to complete the transaction and buy the product -- and you say I have to pay you to take my money ? Yes, it's usual, all the big insurance companies are now doing this for phone payment he says.
p.s. if you want to read this post, there is a £10 fee, I'll accept cash
