Well, time for bed. In closing, the defeat in the cup stings no where near as I did in the leauge. Last 9 Leauge meetings, 27 points up for grabs

SAFC total 24 points

nufc total 3 points

Tomorrow is another day. Let them stay excited for beating a championship side in the FA Cup.... not really the same is it? After all, Premier League is the be all and end all isn't it? And the above head to head says all it needs to.

Sweet dreams. Wick.

ps, best avoid Look Newcastle on Monday night and BBC Radio Newcastle United.... it'll be as cringe as a team photo on the pitch.

I think you guys deserve a reply; all top posters. I've never been a prolific poster and never will be.

I feel the board, which was once great, has morphed into a RTG (Whatever the **** that is) type of shadow. Some of the posters, not all, that came across circa 2019 have ruined this board. Prehab wetting his pants over the last few days was pathetic as it comes. His own poll was sad as **** but perhaps, this has what the board has sunk too. That was one example.. ..there are others.

Perhaps I preferred the old style discussions/arguments with some real, proper characters. Unfortunately very few of the old guard remain on here. Not sure why, but there is.

I can see a few more joining you and Roger before long, I agree with you about the sniping children that are on here now, let’s see what happens when that’s all they are left with.

Brilliant post. Honestly think it’d have ended 0-0 without those gifts! They didn’t look like creating for themselves at all. Don’t remember Patterson having a save to make except Trippier’s back passed free kick.

I’ll certainly take the positives. If we pushed higher, it leaves more space. Whether you like Bruno or not (I detest him), he’s a quality footballer. Not sure he gave the ball away. The gulf in class and cost was clear everywhere but the final third! Neither team created much at all. And they were no way 3 goals better than us.

what pisses me off with our fans, is those who left early. The boys put a shift in against a much better side. Deserved clapping from the field. Yet we gave those fans who think “**** it I’m going home” even saw a kid trying to convince his responsibile adult to stay till the end!

Longstaff should have had a hatrick in the first 30 mins. Ballard pulled down isak and should have been sent off and a penalty given. They were going to score wether we made the mistakes or not.

If that game ended 0-0 it would have been a miracle.

I've not commented yet, just sat reading all the posts on the train home.I'm not trying to be a wise guy but yesterday will soon be seen as a turning point imo. We're quite literally not in the same league as Newcastle and, from what I saw yesterday, I don't want to be ...

... the whole thing is so fake and worse than I'd thought from the 'decimated by injuries' to the free b&w scarves that looked quite cheap.

Clubs like Everton have tried to compete with the rich clubs and have been left in a mess with a terrible squad, Sean Dyche and a stadium they can't afford to finish.

I used to love the rivalry but it's gone now, time to face facts ...

... they're no more our rivals than Hartlepool.

In the past there was always the chance that each club would have their turn above the other. Finished.

It's not as if Newcastle have gradually built a team and fought hard to climb the table, they've been taken over by an unstoppable regime. Surely we can now just get on with our football and forget about competing with them, it's over.

I've never seen 6,000 away fans so subdued and quiet ...

... they know they're not earning success, just buying it.

What a concept, sell your soul to 'get your club back' <doh>

Difference between a fan and a supporter I guess.

Aye. Having season tickets in my family for generations and all the way through league one. As I said, don't like watching us get bent over, especially against our rivals. Wasn't competitive and a training game for them. So left to catch up with some mates.

What's pathetic the our club rolling out the red carpet for the filth. Got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and said sorry. Sorry like, but if we make errors like that, it will get called out. Otherwise we just sit in La La land and never improve.

The off the field performance of the club is nothing short of abysmal.

I always laugh when people post about the NOT606 glory days and what a wonderful forum it once was.

The reality is that it was often a handful of posts and a dozen like minded people who posted the usual repetitive internet 'banter', fell out on a Friday night then kissed and made up on a Saturday.

Unless you were in the clique, and laughed at their in jokes, you weren't welcome. They saw it as their board with their rules and constantly claimed they'd 'saved the board' and made it what it was. It's much busier now, more diverse topics and a proper match thread instead of the cobbled together efforts we once had. RTB does a great job that's not always appreciated.

It's easy to criticise posters from RTG but some of them are among the best posters we have.

Not everyone agrees but you only ever get out what you put in ...

... if you're not contributing you're stuck with what other people post.

If you don't like it there are endless other websites you can read.

We are stuck at the minute, between what we all hope and what the club are prepared to deliver.
To many fans hang on to this dream we are getting better.
IMHO we are not improving under Beal but we need to see what he can do for the rest of the season.

Swapping Burstow for a big lad who can hold it up would give us another option. As far as I'm concerned though we should play Rusyn every game and figure out how to get him the ball in the box.
I think we need both. Yesterday was the perfect illustration that we can’t only have one dimension

Which is just your interpretation of events. Others have a different, narrative-free, less cynical interpretation.
