As others have said I doubt it will be Dodds. Dodds is speakmans man from Brum and I cannot believe he would expose him to potential failure as a long term caretaker and risk losing his man in the dressing room. Dodds is a constant in the coaching environment that provides the continuity.

I can also see no real reason to have to wait for their target. Pay the compensation required, pay the salary and get it done. We can be promoted this season so lets back the ambition with action now.

I could see Dodds getting it until the end of the season in order to facilitate bringing somebody in who is already employed but I can't see what tomorrow night's result would have to do with it. I would have thought that they are either keen on the idea or they are not.
It will show that the owner has written the rest of the season off.

I think it would be an error but it might not just be down to money. If it was say Barry, would he want to see out the champions league or see out euro 24. Yes we could move elsewhere but what if he’s first choice. It does risk writing off our season though and maybe Dodds as our coach,

Rubberface on RTG is saying if Dodds gets a good result tomorrow he's getting the job until the end of the season

Basing the rest of the season on an own goal or daft penalty decision would be ridiculous ...

... I really don't believe it for a second.

I'm not knocking Rubberface, he's posted some decent stuff. It's just that people tell you weird stuff, in good faith, that they've been told in good faith. I had a message that Nigel Pearson was our preferred preferred replacement ...

... I'm not buying that either and didn't bother posting it.

Exactly, we're a smart club now (we really are, regardless of how much some struggle to accept it). We're not going to make a decision on our head coach appointment based on one result against a good side. It's nonsense

I honestly do not think the bookies have any idea at the minute as they are swaying from one candidate to another and it looks like if somebody goes on line to place a 20 quid bet that can sway the bookies and change the favourite.
Course they don't. The odds are based on who is betting on what and they ensure that the odds cover their losses. They have absolutely zero Intel

I can't remember a managerial change being so quiet. Hope it's a case of them going about their business quietly and are working on getting the man they've been targeting rather than a case of no one wants it so well give it dodds if he wins tomorrow.

Not a chance this hasn’t been planed and they will be loads of managers wanting a shot!

I do wonder how attractive we really are. We all think we are a great opportunity, but I wonder what coaches and their representatives on the continent really think. The Athletic have done a decent piece today about us and the appeal we may, or may not have. One point that struck me was out wages to turnover ratio being around 62%, wheras Ipsiwch are at 115%. Forest went up with 200% and I bet with the exception of Luton most promoted teams are far higher than us. I am not saying we are wrong in our approach, but it is interesting to see how ambitious coaches may look at that.

I also wonder about our salary for a head coach. No idea what it is, but it doesnt really feel like we have employed a top earner for a while.

Sounds a bit negative I know, but I am not sure we are as attractive for some coaches as we might imagine. The young ones like Hellberg will be up for it you would think, but maybe Still has bigger fish to fry in his mind, given his already public rep. Just a thought.
