Our transfer windows have been interesting and generally successful with very little info leaking out. I think most people appreciate that.

And despite us bringing numerous young lads, many foreign, to the NE they've generally been well behaved and represented the club well.

I only mention that as I think it shows we don't seem to take fliers like we used to. In fact, looking back, the worst problems we've had imo were with British players ... Johnson, Diamond, Rodwell, Grigg, etc.

Our vetting process seems to be working, fingers crossed for the this window.

I’d add Darren Gibson to your list tbf.

This thread looks like becoming a Mowbray witch hunt instead of about the window. I'd rather he was left to do his job and trust in the club to do theirs ...

... we now, possibly for the first time ever, have a proper mechanism to build a proper club with real forward planning.

We're not there yet but the signs are good.

My biggest concern is losing Dan Neil.

I think we gonna get a lot of people looking at him and we gonna have a battle to keep him.

Funnily enough I think Jacky we be sound until summer then he go if we don’t go up.

Not a clue what we do striker wise, I’d take a punt on Langstaff from Notts County.

84 goals in 3 years and from the North East.

I’d be absolutely staggered if we signed a 26 year who’s playing in League Two.

Controversial but Neil is probably one I would cash in on if we got a big offer. Would reduce the midfield headache and Jobe would move into that role allowing us to play someone like Aouchiche in the 10.

Mentioned Frank Magri in the summer window, just came on for Toulouse and scored against Liverpool first touch.

Dan Neil is one of the players we can't afford to loose & one of the first names on team sheet for me, gets through a hell of a lot of graft, some of which goes unseen

Good player and had a great start to the season but not indispensable imo especially if an offer of £25m came in. Could improve us across the pitch massively and we wouldn’t even need to sign a replacement.

I don't think anyone in the team offers what Dan Neil does, maybe someone could work their way into the role but see Stoke for how we fair without him. He was a huge miss in the middle imo!

Did you forgot how we played when he was out of the team mate?

One game that we played no worse than we’ve played numerous times with him in the team both last season and this to be fair - including a 1-5 drubbing by the same Stoke.

Obviously he would be a miss at first he’s been a mainstay in the midfield but I think Jobe has the quality to fill the role. He’s miles ahead of where Neil was at the same age.

Edit - just to say that last sentence isn’t a dig at Neil by the way, just an indicator of how good Jobe could be!

I'd absolutely love to see the club spend the Stewart money on an experienced striker. No idea who,, but it'd be a huge statement

You don’t think we could utilise £25m to improve us more than what Dan Neil currently gives? Come on mate he’s good but that’s a bit of a wild shout..

I honestly don't think it would make a difference to our team. No striker in world football is scoring goals in this team so why waste money on one? The strikers we do have get zero service so why would that change with a new forward?
