Agreed. Our recruitment is all about signing young talent on longer term contracts and developing them, which I think so far has been largely successful. However,in the case of the strikers, none of them are Championship ready. Rusyn should be,as he's not a kid, but, for whatever reason, has so far failed to flourish, the others all need more work. We're all a little bit frustrated that it isn't happening now, especially after a match like Swansea, and we need Rusyn to come good soon.
Bit harsh to say he's failed to flourish considering we've created ONE chance for him. Unless Mowbray changes the system we will continue to have striker issues whoever plays there.

I don't think I was suggesting his failure to flourish was all his own fault.

For any fans of pedantry and the relentless pursuit of claims against a big company, with an army of bureaucrats, here's the latest letter from a friend to a rail organisation. It's hardly Mr Bates v the Post Office but it's reminiscent of the way big business believes it can stonewall and browbeat lone individuals. I won't add the lad's name but a few will know who it is <laugh>

Good Evening Mr Jackson

I understand you’ve received (and can expect to receive approximately 2000) witness statements regarding my experience with TPE, please can you provide me with copies of all correspondence where my name is listed as a SAR in relation to GDPR.

It’s very disappointing that this situation has escalated and not been dealt with by TPE.

I’m also very disappointed to note that TPE have lied on 9 separate occasions in their response to the Independent Rail Ombudsman’s request for information. This will all be proven once Mr Menzies provides all documentation requested under previous SAR relating to GDPR.

I will, for clarity, inform you of the lies provided.

1) TPE have advised that only 2 of the 5 ticket images have been received. Why did Helen Ffrench confirm receipt of all 5 images on a telephone call on 5th December 2023?

2) TPE have advised that I have been asked to provide a copy of the 16-25 railcard. I can confirm that I have never been asked to provide a copy of the railcard and this will be confirmed once I receive all of the documentation requested from Mr Menzies

3) TPE have insinuated that I did not travel on the services I did. This will be confirmed once Mr Menzies provides the CCTV footage of me travelling on the 13:59 Durham to Manchester Piccadilly service as requested in a SAR in relation to GDPR on 20th November 2023.

4) TPE have advised that I have been asked to provide a copy of the two together railcard. I can confirm that I have never been asked to provide a copy of the railcard and this will be confirmed once I receive all of the documentation requested from Mr Menzies

5) TPE have advised that I have been asked, on numerous occasions, to provide the physical tickets. I can confirm that I have never been asked to provide the physical tickets and this will be confirmed once I receive all of the documentation requested from Mr Menzies.

6) When I discussed the unsuccessful claim with your customer relations colleague on 5th December 2023 I asked what further information was required and I was advised that “it doesn’t say on the response what further information is required so I can’t tell you.”

7) Helen Ffrench confirmed on 5th December 2023 that she had all of the information and would investigate this urgently and update me as soon as possible. Sadly, I’m still waiting for an update.

8) In relation to each passenger needing to submit the claim themselves, I discussed this with Helen Ffrench on 5th December 2023 and I suggested that 5 individual cheques could be sent out to the named passengers. Helen agreed that this may be a way forward due to the complexity of the situation and she assured me that she would investigate this and update me. Sadly, I’m still waiting for an update.

9) As one of the claims has been rejected because it was one ticket using a two together railcard, what would have happened if the other passenger had claimed themselves, yes that’s correct it would have been rejected also as it would have required two tickets for the two together ticket to be valid.

I look forward to receiving your observations and the SAR in relation to GDPR.

Thank you
