Fabio Paratici has been spotted in Norway watching Bodo and/or Glimt playing Club Brugge

The speculation machine suggests that he's watching Brugge LW Antonio Nusa, mainly based on Chelsea making a late bid for him in the summer only for him to prefer to stay in Belgium for another season - although it should be said that Andreas Skov Olsen, who was linked with us back in the summer of 2019, also plays for Brugge and has been banging them in this season

Football Manager veterans, on the other hand, insists that we are looking at either Albert Gronbaek or Jorne Spileers , the former a young Danish CM who has been monstering the Norwegian league this season who would be known to Johan Lange due to his time at Aarhus, while Spileers is best summed up as a younger, right-footed Belgian Mickey Van

Voetball Krant claim that we're considering a January move for Andreas Skov Olsen

Certainly lines up with Paratici being spotted watching Brugge playing Body and/or Glimt a couple of weeks back, while also meaning our main options at RW would be different flavours of Scandi

I think we've been linked with him in every window since 2019.
I assume there's some truth to the rumours, but it never seems to happen.

Both TuttoMercato and 1908 have linked us with Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez, who has scored 15 in 11 in all competitions for Feyenoord this season (and wasn't too shabby last season, scoring 23 in 45), with Feynoord casually talking about how he is worth quadruple the £10m they paid Cruz Azul for him last summer

While there's an obvious whiff of the agent about this even though he extended his contract back in August, plus the usual caveats about Eredivisie strikers, what does stick out (other than his scoring form, obviously) is he does appear to have the sort of mentality Ange is looking for, as Arne Slot has gone on record stating he didn't move to the Eredivisie for money as Cruz Azul were offering him more than Feyenoord were - he moved to Holland as he had the ambition and hunger to prove himself instead of remain comfortable in Liga MX, and that does fit in with the profile of players we are looking at these days. More than anything else, he does have the sort of movement and timing which Richarlison seems to be lacking this season

Charlie Eccleshare says a CB and LW/ CF will likely be on the agenda in January.

CB definitely seems the most obvious one.

A LW/ CF feels like it spells the end for both Richarlison (fortunately) and (unfortunately) Gil, because with Solomon likely back by the January window, I can’t see how Son, Kulu, Johnson, <new forward>, Solomon, Richarlison and Gil all fit into a match day squad, someone will almost certainly be left out completely. Still think Gil could shine in this system but a lot will depend on any minutes he gets from now until January.

It does lend some weight to the idea of using Kulu as a backup for Madders. With Perisic out and that potential rotation, we’d need another option.
 
I don't think that LW should be a priority.
We've got so many players that can play there.
Even cover/competition for LB would be better, in my opinion.

I don’t see Kulu backing Maddison up to be honest, he’s almost a guaranteed starter himself so can’t really see how it’d work. An actual Maddison backup would be great but creators are in such short supply that getting one to start from the bench most games seems highly unlikely.

It’s a weird one because right now we’re pretty well stocked with wide forwards in general but by the end of the season three could be gone:
Perisic’s contract expires
Gil’s future is uncertain
Richarlison I’d be amazed if we persisted for a third season.

Only leaves Solomon, Johnson and Kulu as wide players then if we assume Son will remain as CF.

I definitely think a new LB and RB will be on the summer shopping list though.
 
Looks like Santi Gimenez won't be a January option, because after last week's articles/columns/blogs saying he could be bought for £39m in January, Feyenoord have (quite rightly, TBH) stated that if they are going to sell they will need an offer which at least matches the £82m Man Utd paid for Antony last year

I thought there were positive comments and indications from Ange and iTK's around Gil?
He obviously needs good game time, but like others, I reckon he could really do a joke b for us.
As for other requirements, I thought the last game highlighted the LWB area when Udogie is not available. Ben has a different skillset and it looks as though Ange doesn't rate him for the role. Emerson is too right-sided, doesn't have the speed of Udogie and generally doesn't fill me with any confidence.

I think both Davies and Emerson could be on the chopping block in the summer, with a replacement for each being sought too. Decent defenders who can do a job but like Hojbjerg just aren’t properly suited to this system.

I hope Gil can play a part, I still rate him highly but I just feel that even with Perisic and Solomon out, he’ll still find it tough getting off the bench seeing as pigeon boy keeps getting picked and Johnson is obviously ahead in the pecking order.

Everton are in talks with Tottenham to renegotiate the £10 million appearance clause over Dele Alli.
Sean Dyche wants to reintegrate him into the Everton squad. - Chris Bascombe, Telegraph.

We should try to work something out quickly for the sake of the player.
It's not a significant amount of money really and we won't get it anyway.
Silly deal in the first place and was never likely to work out for us.

A 2017-2019 version Dele would absolutely thrive under Ange I reckon. Such a waste of talent. Just hope the lad can get some sort of career back on track. He has so many years still ahead of him if he can :emoticon-0148-yes:

Agree. I hope we can look at the player's welfare above a profit on the deal.
